Wen editing mentees?
- (links) the sooner the better IMO! ...but to make it work, we need some sort of rating system, and to make that work, we need to be willing to apply it on ourselves. Perhaps the mentees can rate our (staff editor) work?

- Maybe bring on a few copy editors as mentees
- The content editor can go back and check that work (?)
- Have the mentees take an editing test?

How editing mentees?
- (links) here’s a proposed workflow
- lead editor(s) chooses a staff/mentee combo for each piece
- try your best to rotate these combos around
- when staff editor content edits a piece, the mentee reads the edits and rates the quality of editing
- after author edits, the mentee copy edits pieces for the staff editor
- the staff editor reviews copy edits and rates quality of copy editing
- the staff editor decides how much the mentee gets paid...if the staff editor has to do a LOT of copy editing to fix the mentee’s work, they can take the WHOLE copy edit BANK
- lather, rinse, repeat
- after we’ve been doing it for 2-4 weeks, figure out if we can start seeing patterns in the ratings
