To build an onchain community of changemakers focused on vibing, thriving, and exploring decentralized systems.

About the Design

The DAO’s logo includes the black flag because it is the symbol under which we have chosen to unite. For this community, the black flag symbolises freedom of choice.

The inclusion of DAO in the logo makes it clear that we’re not a corporate entity masquerading as a cooperative. Through our history as BanklessDAO, and now in our next phase as Black Flag DAO, we are proudly exploring decentralized approaches to governance supported by onchain mechanisms such as voting and attestation.

The logo gives equal prominence to the figure proudly hodling the flag because the community is our reason for being. We believe blockchain technology and decentralized decision making can make a positive change in the world, but without people, none of it matters.

The simple, friendly vibe for the logo is intentional. Our DAO welcomes newcomers and puts the focus on vibing and thriving together.

It’s meant to be fun and playful, and for that reason the core logo elements in black can be used against a variety of vibrant colors and shapes to suit the application. Please don’t use it on a dark or black background without a colorful base. If you want to use a gradient or flat color not available here, please use the versions below as a guide for hue and saturation, and logo placement.
