Feature Request: Benefactor Feature for TeamPoints Utility

Overview: The Benefactor Feature is a proposed enhancement to our platform that allows users to make direct financial contributions to organizational contributors based on their TeamPoints (TP) distribution. This functionality will introduce a critical utility to TeamPoints, differentiating CollabBerry from competitors like Coordinape and providing a compelling reason for organizations to adopt and integrate our system.
Feature Details:
  • Trigger & UI:
    • A "Donate to team" button will be added to the organizational app.
    • Clicking this button will open a pop-up window, guiding the user through the donation process.
  • Donation Parameters:
    • Users (benefactors) can select a specific round they want to base their donation on.
    • They can also choose the number of rounds to include in the calculation (aggregating TeamPoints over multiple rounds), or select them all (total TPs).
    • The total donation amount will be automatically distributed based on the selected TeamPoints distribution.
    • The UI will calculate and display the final allocation before confirming the donation.
  • User Experience:
    • Transparent and automated distribution to contributors based on pre-existing TeamPoints weights.
    • A seamless and intuitive interface that ensures ease of use and encourages engagement.
  • Nice to have:
    • The ability to send funds/tokens in multiple networks. Even in the case of a transaction request out of Arbitrum, this app feature might read TPs balances from the Arbitrum ledger, while executing transactions in a network selected by the user.
      • In the case of a different network, a disclaimer safety warning should be displayed.

  1. Client Demand: Several clients have signaled their need to financialy reward contributions based on TeamPoints, and this feature addresses that need.
  1. Competitive Advantage: While Coordinape offers similar financial utility, CollabBerry streamlines the process, making it more user-friendly and efficient for direct contributor rewards.
  1. Marketing Potential: This functionality can be a cornerstone of a strong marketing campaign for the upcoming Gitcoin Round on March 5th, showcasing our ability to build meaningful tools for the Public Goods community.
  1. Feasibility: The feature seems relatively straightforward to develop, as it leverages existing TeamPoints data and primarily involves UI adjustments and transaction automation. We should assess whether this can be completed in time for Gitcoin Round 5.
Call to Action: Given the strategic value and demand for this feature, I strongly recommend prioritizing its development. If feasible, launching in time for Gitcoin Round 5 would significantly boost CollabBerry's visibility, adoption, and differentiation in the market.
