Meeting Minutes
Meeting Summary
- Grow PG mindshare
- biweekly twitter spaces with Alisha
- Livestream ENS with alisha for setting up GRs
- WS coordination
- fix up calendar invites, split call into aspirational and tactical
- MMM and GR12
- librarian and librarian wayfinder role definition
- GR Ops
- Kyle for meeting cadence and workload running GRs, will need to work with Connor and Michael to distill insights
- Quick intro on new folks interested in the stream
- Connor, Michael and Kyle
- Update on Library:
- Linh
- working to ensure we strengthen the relationship with the existing folks
- good funnel for library to PG WS. Have a large opp to grow this in the future (currently marketing of advertising)
- people have been asking Linh to be added to certain projects from the public goods calls
- so far - 1:1 calls seem to be relatively effective in getting ppl actively participate
- Scott
- Is there a role for holdings to play in boosting + growing content outside of library?
- Kyle
- How do we leverage MMM + have holders invest into MMM marketing resources?
- Want this PG WS to partner with MMM + instead of focusing on partnering with holdings
- Kris
- Sean is gonna step up in MMM more to coordinate with PG marketing
- Need to identify an MMM liaison with other workstreams in terms of publicizing their efforts (Kyle working with Kris on this)
- Alisha - thoughts on onboarding
- We need to step back a bit and explore relationship bw gitcoin + public goods?
- Gitcoin could be nucleus of public goods in crypto —> want gitcoin to be the first place people think of to donate/get involved with public goods
- How do we position gitcoin to do that?
- Content
- Calls
- other marketing efforts
- Huge distinction bw public library and people who are actively contributing to the workstream
- Zooming out - how can we turn the discord into a top of funnel in all marketing efforts to get people's attention + contributions
- Getting people's attention on public goods is enough
- Scott
- What does a "wayfinder program" look like?
- Want missionaries, not mercenaries. not too agressive also.
- shouldn't necessarily require specifically shilling but more just directing attention to public goods where it makes sense
- QZ
- Looking to figure out what the are dependences to start thinking through for "ambassador" toolkit
- Need to engage in deeper conversations about how to get the message across. how do we frame it?
- Elevator pitch
- Explanations of QF, etc. might have some common messaging
- getting them on board with public goods (via their attention), not just onboard as contributors
- Scott
- How can we get people who are interested to join the wayfinder program without having an army of supporters that is too intense/maxi (like chainlink marines = want to avoid)
- Kris
- Really need to flesh out goal of library and figure out funnel with north star + how we leverage the data we get via public library
- Lani
- Where are the entry points that make it easy for people to start joining the public library?
- Current limitations with discord room max, etc.
- Need an intentional flow for onboarding people within the public goods WS
- Need to figure out how
- Linh
- Can stream the call (via twitch??) so that more people can listen in
- Capping the group at 25 in discord could be great for intimacy
- Alisha
- public goods should be a category within crypto: DeFi, NFTs, DAOs, Public Goods
- Not enough context for people to understand it as a concept rn
- How do we get to a point where we're cranking out content to psyops people into understanding public goods
- Make it ubiquitous so people can't miss it on CT
- make Gitcoin calls all open
- Scott, Alisha, Lani. Jihad
- Interested in creating a podcast for public goods
- Perhaps can do a collab with gitcoin x crypto native podcast to highlight public goods
- Scott
- Perhaps set up tentative biweekly twitter spaces with people from PG - including Scott + Alisha
- There's a few different roles within PG librarian role
- Moderator
- etc.
- grants rounds / fundraising deep dive and updates
- Climate change
- Advocacy
- Longevity
- Jihad
- Forefront is willing to allocate significant $$ to side round = 50-75K
- with 25 for themed round, 25 for side round for FF
- Vishnu + Jihad to sync for climate round
- Scott
- Convos with olympusDAO for getting $$ to fund a round
- Olympus looking for social causes to fund rn —> lot we can do there
- threw out $300K in potential funding = 1% of each rebase as a
- Jihad
- To meet with core contributor for Olympus DAO
- Kyle
- Getting opinion to split this call to for grants rounds/ops + public goods workstream
- Need structure set up for GR stuff that's really tactical with regard to managing rounds
- Perhaps need to carve out separate workstream for people working on grants stuff
- As we get to GR 1 month out = 3 calls/week
- 10 days out = daily standups
- Kyle to figure out proposal for cadence of these calls
- Want to keep these calls aspirational and high level and carve out tactical calls for execution + ops
- Updates:
- Good call with Polygon they're getting lined up
- Uniswap is lined up
- Scott handling advocacy + longevity
- These are going well and $$ has been committed and likely to happen
- Vishnu + Jihad running climate round
- Kyle
- Largest thing to do with side rounds has to do with coordination with partners
- Alisha
- To livestream creating a grants round with ENS
- Kyle
- Eventual goal is have people be able to fork gitcoin's QF rounds protocol to run their own rounds
- Michael Giesen and Connor O'Day have lots of context + knowledge about how to run the rounds —> want to translate into a protocol + runbooks in Notion, etc.
- Scott + Kyle
- To coordinate on setting up separate calls for PG + Grants
Ryan - I made a twitter account just for GreatestLarp publicity - I await any retweeting schedule I can follow
Rounds:
#teamwork <3 +1
