DAOlationships Guild - General Information
What is the DAOlationships Guild?
DAOlationships core mission is to provide massive value and impact to both Bankless and our inter-dao relationships. We are the facilitators and coordinators between external organizations and internal revenue generating activities. Other guilds focus on what they love to do, while we support them in bridging relationships and coordinating workflows with outside orgs.
DAOlationships Guild's Mission
- Build relationships between Bankless DAO and other DAOs, companies, and organizations that are aligned with the mission and vision of Bankless DAO.
- Grow Bankless DAO to become the industry leader in cross DAO relationships, being the "super connector DAO" that supports all decentralized autonomous organizations as they emerge as the next big thing in the Web 3.0 landscape.
- Revenue assisting projects are for consultancy, not DAOlationships
DAOlationships Guild's Values
We maximize value by maximizing the Bankless Guilds' impact to the outside world.
- Support revenue generating projects produced by the Bankless DAO such as Metafactory, NFT sales, software products (Bounty Board, DEGEN bot), DAO to DAO services, media sponsorships, and BED Index.
- Identify key partners at other organizations who can integrate and utilize our products, use our methodologies, and make Bankless DAO an example of a successful DAO with on-chain revenue that others can follow.
Members and Responsibilities
There are different roles in our guild:
- Guild Coordinator - Keep guild connected, organized, and sharing transparently across the DAO
- Governance Coordinator - To ensure we adhere to our governance process and act as a guide to help members self-navigate/participate
- Ninjas - Our ninjas, comprise our talent pool. This will include everyone that is a part our guild and is able to work on BizDev efforts in different capacities. Ninjas reach out to different DAOs and build relationships, and promote Bankless DAO products
Our Projects
As of Sept 20, 2021 we have 2 ongoing revenue generating projects:
- Metafactory collaboration
- BED index
Currently, about 90% of our revenue solutions come from 3rd party relationships. BED Index, DEGEN bot, Bounty Board and the Academy are our only in-house projects. BED is the only revenue ready project, the rest are still scoping.

Discord & Notion
We use Discord and Notion to keep our work organized. Discord is our main communication tool, and Notion is our knowledge repository.
Discord Channels
- #DAOlationships-start-here This is the first place where someone new should go because it will have all the information that is critical to know to have a good experience in the Business Development Guild.
- #DAOlationships-general This is an all-purpose channel where you can drop in and say hi, be social, and use for any general topics you may need.
- #DAOlationships-feedback This is a great place to provide feedback to each other. We're used to discussing topics for feedback in threads. Feedback isn't just for personal feedback, but also for operations or other general feedback so that we don't clutter other channels.
- #DAOlationships-culture This channel is used for philosophical and existential topics like:
- What's the culture of our guild?
- What are we representing to the DAO?
- What's our culture for developing relationships?
- #DAOlationships-opportunities This is our main hub for discussing individual opportunities in our pipeline. This is the place to discuss any and all specific projects we are working on.
- #DAOlationships-governance This channel is used for all discussions to gather internal consensus within the guild, and governance topics.
- #DAOlationships-pollz This is where we use surveys and polls to gain consensus around our guild's efforts.
DAOlationships Guild's Notion
Notion is the central hub for our individual guild. Be aware that the information here is not necessarily finalized. This is a dynamic and evolving repository, and will take solid shape as we define ourselves and get further formalized.
You can find many resources in our guild's area within Notion, including our mission, CRM, projects, how to get in touch, etc...
CRM (DAOlationship Management)
The CRM is where we track the opportunities for DAOlationships and collaborations. This is where we keep our organization up to date on the activities related to each effort, as well as who is working on them.
The CRM is meant to track opportunities from ideation, all the way to their finalized stage or outcome. It's also meant to save contributors from having to browse through Discord conversations to understand where each opportunity stands.
Meeting Notes
This section helps everyone in the DAO catch up and see the notes for each of our meetings, in case they missed one. Each week, there is a 100 $BANK bounty for someone to take notes during our weekly guild call. Notes are also very useful in case we ever have to look at items discussed from days, weeks, or months in the past.
Meeting notes also track accomplishments by individual members. It's great to track individual accomplishments to recognize members who are contributing to our guild. Each individual accomplishment helps the collective, which is what this is all about.
Getting Involved
Getting involved in DAOlationships, and DAOs in general
- DAOs are headless and permission-less. Getting started is as simple as rolling up your sleeves and contributing. What does that look like? Projects can be sourced internally or externally. It is up to each individual ninja to figure out what their time commitments are and how involved in projects/DAO’s they want to be.
- A simple way to accomplish this is to find projects and DAO’s that speak to you, are aligned with your 3P’s (passion, purpose, principles) and getting involved, much like you are with bankless.
- Contributor roles can be earned in a lot of orgs based off merit and contribution, so there’s no shortage of ways to collect compensation (and become full time DAO if that’s your thing).
- Going full time DAO can be as simple as diving deep into one, or specializing in a skillset and working with multiple. Attend calls, show up, find areas that interest you or you’re passionate about, and jump on in if they need your skills. It’s honestly that easy.
- DAOs have a shortage of talent. Some DAO’s may or may not require some sort of buy-in to have server access.
- An easy frame to consider is that a ninja role is similar to a contractor. It’s up to you to go out and find projects and DAO’s you want to participate in and build relationships with. It’s also your function to figure out what/how you get paid and how much you’re involved.
- For projects that are “incubating” with bankless, they’re in different stages of pre/post revenue and applying for grants. It’s your responsibility to sort that out. Keep that in mind and be respectful towards projects, regardless of where they are in the revenue stages.
Important Steps for Getting Involved in DAOlationships
Please complete these items as first steps to getting involved:
- Orient yourself with the onboarding resources in the #💥bizdev-start-here💥 Discord channel, including this document.
- Introduce yourself in the #👋bizdev-general Discord channel.
- Fill out your contributor profile in Notion:
- Let us know what skills and time you'd like to contribute here to get you oriented appropriately
- Look for projects and DAO's to build relationships with (we source our own work here)
- Add what you're working on into the CRM. Also add it to "Accomplishments" in the rolling agenda for weekly meetings. Gives more visibility to what you're doing and makes it easier to rally support as needed.
Time Commitment
How many DAOs or projects you work in is completely up to you, your availability and what you want to commit. Some of us are involved in 3 DAOs with “permanent positions”, others contribute to DAOs by spending a few hours each week.
Compensation
The current approach for compensation within the BanklessDAO is that projects are responsible for compensating contributors, as opposed to the individual guilds. Guilds will have small budgets mainly for coordination and alignment/accountability only. The structure we follow is simple: projects drive revenue, guilds coordinate and organize talent pools
It is important for each member contributing to a project to have discussions about compensation as they see fit. Projects will have a coordinator who handles these items, and it is up to the contributor to bring this up when they feel it is appropriate.
Our approach to DAOlationships and building relationships
The strongest DAOlationships representatives are stewards of the communities they’re involved with. They participate, show up to community calls, and engage. There is a good chance they take permanent roles with our peers to help further our reputations, and theirs.
We are stewards of the crypto community. Helping to lift our peers up. By repping the black flag and helping lift up other communities, we naturally establish ourselves as the go-to solution provider.
We naturally establish ourselves as the problem solver. We as individuals are bankless. We provide valuable contributions to our peers. As we do this, we earn the right to offer solutions.
We take a relationships-first (other focused) approach in all we do here!
