Val is a serial entrepreneur founding three startups – Executips, Gridualism, and Dpage. He was at Wix for over three years before coming to Argyle.
As a Software Engineer at Wix for two and a half years, Val did Scala backend engineering in a microservice rich and extremely agile Wix ecosystem. He built RESTful web services powered by MongoDB and ElasticSearch for the App Market. He also developed RPC services and integrations with external systems for the Hotels vertical at Wix.
For the last seven months at Wix, he was a Product Manager creating and delivering products for over 100 million Wix users, managing the processes from product research to creating mockups, and working with UX and engineering teams in Israel and Lithuania.
Val was a Software Engineer for Markit in London for almost two years. He worked in the Structured Finance team where he developed calculations and systems to provide mortgage and asset-backed security pricing for the biggest banks in the world. He also worked closely with Markit’s business analysts in London and New York. He mostly used Java and Oracle at this position
His tech industry knowledge encompasses Data Mining, Programming, Web Development, Software Engineering, and Machine Learning. His tech skills include AJAX, JavaScript, SQL, Spring, XML, C++, C, Hibernate, Linux, UML, PostgreSQL, Java Enterprise Edition, Python, Ruby, R.
He was a Software Engineer for Mediaworks after earning his Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering from Vilniaus Universitetas (Vilnius University). At Mediaworks, he developed a stock trading system and other financial systems for what is now a major Scandinavian Bank (SEB). His work included creating portfolio calculations for equity owners and trade transaction settlements. He worked with Java, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
After Mediaworks, he earned his Master of Science in Computer Science from the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, where he also worked on research. His research in the fields of bioinformatics and recommendation systems was published in scientific journals and presented in international conferences.
