[July 14th, 2023 | Gitcoin Passport v1.0.13 6 New Stamps & New Scoring Algorithm
The latest release of Gitcoin Passport made the following changes:
  • Added 6 new stamps: Guild, Civic, Holonym, Idena, Phi, & Hypercerts
  • Changed the weights of ALL credentials
  • Removed 2 stamps: POAP and GTC Possession
  • Revamped the Github stamp to have all new credentials
Why did we make changes?
Gitcoin Passport is constantly monitoring the data as we work to make it easy for humans and hard for Sybils to pass. A recent data analysis showed us that some stamps (POAP, Github, Twitter) needed to be changed in order to prevent abuse of the system. In addition, we’ve partnered with new stamp providers: Guild, Civic, Holonym, Idena, Phi, & Hypercerts to provide additional, new data, in our system.
The results of the data analysis and the addition of new stamps & credentials required us to alter each stamp’s score weight (e.g,. how much of a score each stamp and credential provides to the overall score). We believe that these changes will support our ongoing work to detect and prevent Sybils.
Why did my score change?
We've created a new scoring algorithm based on both the new stamps & credentials we've added, and we've also adjusted the score weighting of previous stamps. This was done to make it easier for humans to get a passing score of 20, while making it harder for Sybils and bots to get a passing score.
In many cases, if you do not claim new stamps, you will see your Unique Humanity Score drop. There are two reasons for this drop: 1) more stamps result in more points being spread across the larger number of stamps, and 2) we're giving more weight to those stamps that have been shown to have a better signal for determining humans.
Why were stamps removed?
GTC Possessions (holding GTC) and POAP were both removed with this month's changes as they were not effective at filtering out Sybils. These stamps were easy for Sybils to attack and we have other stamps with similar signals which deemed these as unnecessary for the time being.
[July 7th, 2023 | Gitcoin Passport v1.0.12 Small Bug Fixes
The Gitcoin Passport team fixed some bugs related to UX and performance, including the presentation of a number of stamps like our Github Stamp.
[June 30th, 2023 | Gitcoin Passport v1.0.11 Small Bug Fixes
The Gitcoin Passport team fixed some bugs related to UX and performance, including renaming zkSync 1.0 credential to zkSync Lite.

[June 23rd, 2023 | Gitcoin Passport v1.0.10 Documentation Improvements
Per usual, the Gitcoin Passport team fixed some bugs related to UX and performance.
But most notably are the improvements we made to our developer documentation:
  • We simplified the 'quick start' page to just get developers to 'Hello World'. Merged video content from previous version of quick start to more detailed tutorial.
  • We consolidated all details about setting up a Scorer and API keys to the 'API Access' page, removed other related instructions from quick start and tutorials, and added links to API access to those pages
  • We moved the 'Using API keys' to a new 'Authentication' section within the Endpoint Definition page.
  • We added a new 'Rate limits' section to the Endpoint Definition page, which includes a new form to request elevated rate limits (responses deliver to passport@gitcoin.co).
  • We updated the 'Submit for scoring' section in the Endpoint Definition page with the new status value, and added 2 new sample responses in a tabbed format.
Our DevRel lead Zakk also just posted this video on the interactive API. It's a complete walk through of every endpoint, how it works, and some comments on when and how to use it:

[June 16th, 2023 | Gitcoin Passport v1.09] Improving Scalability
We’ve had a massive influx of Passport holders over the past week (over half a million new holders).
This has pushed the limits of our systems, so the team was heads down this week working on scalability issues.
[June 9th, 2023 | Gitcoin Passport v1.08] OKX Wallet Support
The Gitcoin Passport team fixed some bugs related to UX and performance.
Gitcoin Passport Github Readme has been revamped: https://github.com/gitcoinco/passport/blob/main/README.md
Identity Staking has just been turned on through end of August 2023. GTC Staking stamp thresholds are now 5 GTC for bronze, 20 GTC for silver, and 120 for gold.
We also just shipped OKX wallet support. You can now see it in the passport.gitcoin.co UI if you have the OKX wallet extension installed in your browser.

[May 26th, 2023 | Gitcoin Passport v1.06] Bug fixes and BUILDING
This week, the Gitcoin Passport team fixed some bugs related to UX and performance.
We’re also hard at work on building the following:
  • On-Chain Stamps with Ethereum Attestation Service—more on this to come
  • New stamps with Hypercerts, ZKSync Era, Phi, Holonym, and Idena stamps
  • A new Stamp Meta-Data API Endpoint—this should streamline the integration process for Passport partners.

[May 19th, 2023 | Gitcoin Passport v1.05 (cont.)] Bug fixes
This week, the Gitcoin Passport team fixed some bugs related to UX and performance.
[May 12th, 2023 | Gitcoin Passport v1.05] New Stamps (and Stamp-related Functionality)
This week, the Gitcoin Passport team added a Guild.xyz stamp, made some minor UI fixes, and fixed some other small bugs.
Our new Guild stamp is just the first of many stamps being introduced in the coming weeks.
On the topic of stamps, as zkSync unveiled its new network Era, we're making some adjustments to our zkSync stamp to reflect this evolution.
Coming up soon: In response to a specific request from tally.xyz, we're building a Scorer endpoint that delivers a payload containing all the metadata of the stamp, including the stamp icon, name, and description. This will make it easier for developers to display stamp details to their users on the frontend.

[May 5th, 2023 | Gitcoin Passport v1.04] Bug fixes
This week consisted mostly of fixing bugs that were surfaced during the #GitcoinBeta.

[April 28th, 2023 | Gitcoin Passport v1.03] Announcing One-Click Verification
