Meeting 19/2/2024
Rotary District 5280 (63 clubs across Los Angeles) may be able to help us get a grant to fund a prototype Model UN project at our school that can be replicated at other schools across Los Angeles and beyond. With this potential funding support, I’d like to move forward with Hannah’s ideas as the Model UN captain at our school this year, including creating a Granada Hills Charter Model UN DAO to make and vote on proposals toward world peace and inviting United Nations member nations’ leaders to join and participate in the DAO. To enhance this whole process I’d like to explore my own ideas from a while back for using VR and AR simulation, game theory, gamification (TRPGs centered upon human combat against world epidemics, poverty, risks of war, environmental erosions) and game with a purpose (GWAP) and most importantly having children effectively serve as moderators to help good adult leaders to rise up and bad adult leaders to either save face while changing or improving their ways or save face while safely and gracefully stepping down.
Themes likely to win grants are: -Conflict and Resolution -Literacy -Community Assessment and Sustainability
I sent this to Ayo:
Pitchdeck for Los Angeles & Abuja Model United Nations (MUN) DAOs :
  1. Official government approval document(s)
  1. List of your network of 20 schools in Nigeria- school names and addresses
  1. Intro to the MUN program, evidence of success in Los Angeles (Granada Hills Charter School)
  1. Intro to the School DAO project and evidence of success at Granada Hills
  1. Timeline for establishing MUN clubs at the 20 Abuja schools
  1. Statement of needs: funding, mentorship, office space/facility
  1. Budget
  1. List of teachers - names, headshots, qualifications, short bios
Plan for Model UN DAO social impact extracurricular program:
  • Connect Los Angeles and Miami Rotaries (Makiko Nakasone and Romeo Siquijor) for joint project funding and technical support
  • Develop Granada Hills Charter Model United Nations (MUN) Club DAO, which will serve as the prototype or model for the 20 new MUN Clubs in Abuja and their DAO(s) -Engage Los Angeles alumni /current college students Samar Hasan and Spencer Quarls as big brother/big sister leads to younger students in the project
