Project Summary:
The Writers Guild currently has three (4?) newsletters that require ongoing resources and funding:
- Weekly Rollup (internal)
- Decentralized Arts (external)
- State of the DAO (external)
- Project Updates (internal)
The Newsletter Team manages the weekly operations, organizes and moderates weekly meetings, and ships content at regular scheduled intervals. Each of these newsletters requires formal roles and compensation in order to ensure quality, accountability and timely execution.

Total Revenue (End of Season Goal): $15,000 ($5,000 sponsorship for Rollup, DeArts, DAO)

Current Challenges:
Talent continues to be a limiting factor for starting new newsletter projects and scaling existing newsletters. Compensation has been bounty based with a limited number of total Writers Guild members claiming bounties. The Writers Guild is addressing these challenges by improving the onboarding process with a Talent Coordinator and providing adequate compensation for team members.
Revenue Generating Activities:
Direct revenue (sponsorships):
- Weekly Rollup: $5,000/ quarter allocated in 90/10 split (DAO/WG).
- (Future) Decentralized Arts quarterly sponsorship slot
Indirect revenue:
- Driving sales on NFT Showcases, MetaFactory and other DAO initiatives.
Project Team:
The newsletter project team consists of various roles, including project manager, authors, and editors responsible for consistently delivering high quality content, efficient operations, management, and distribution. We propose the following roles be funded through both salaried positions and bounties.
Newsletter Team Project Manager:
- Responsibilities include:
- Maintain a weekly agenda and content calendar
- Ensure consistent delivery and distribution of content
- Moderate weekly team meetings
- Take notes (or otherwise collect) during weekly team meetings
- Represent the Newsletter Team on the weekly Writers Guild Meeting
- Represent the Newsletter Team in Ops Guild and broader DAO
- Track salaries and bounties
- Monitor and report on KPIs
- Manage and distribute POAPs for participation
- Role Salary:
- Streams over 12 week period
- Contains BANK for full term
- Operates off hourly wages and weekly hours

Governance
The Project Champion is an elected role lasting for one season and requires renewal each season by the Writers Guild.
Project funds will be custodied by a (2 of 3) Gnosis Safe multi-sig wallet with seasonally elected members to sign transactions.
