Description / What is your motivation?
The Idea
Introduction
Bridging the gap between Pharma and the individual. Using blockchain technology to securely provide, process and regulate information across the pharmaceutical supply chain and beyond.
VOQ’s core proposition is to provide a robust and sophisticated technological solution for UK drug manufacturers to meet their regulatory requirements, including the traceability, authenticity and accountability of their products. In addition, the solution provided by VOQ will empower the individual to have the ability to verify the products’ authenticity and be alerted to product recalls and use by dates.
Through the use of blockchain technology, VOQ will transform the UK pharmaceutical sector, improving their ability to securely provide, process and regulate drugs (particularly in traceability and recall efficiency). Our platform will improve the traceability of drugs; identifying falsified medicines; alerting consumers of recalled purchases and use by dates. While improving UK drug standards, incentivising feedback on side-effects, thus mitigating health risks to consumers in the future. Our bespoke platform will generate commercial data that will improve not only an individual's experience but also aid in the research and development of enhanced medicines.
The idea for VOQ initially targeted the developing countries where the falsification of drugs is most prevalent. Even in the poorest of areas, the population own smartphones, and so by incentivising reporting, those living in these conditions would be able to ensure the drugs are safe and authentic whilst also financially rewarding for the individual for authenticating via the app. It is still the intention to roll this out as a foundation project, once the tech and infrastructure exist to support it.
Team Story
So far it is only me, I've been slowly building, reaching out to various networks, VCs and communities. London Blockchain Labs has been a massive help so far, they have allowed me to share my idea, give critical feedback and help me grow my understanding of smart contracts. I fully understand that I need to build a team around VOQ and a community for it to work. It is a little seedling being nurtured.

📣 How can KB2 help? Anything goes.
Looking for co-founders, collaborators and anyone who wants to help or knows people who might be able to help, that would be amazing. Specifically, I am experimenting with various engagement strategies and the future use of ZKs or homomorphic encryptions for individual privacy. Privacy enhancing technology is paramount I believe. But lets build mini prototypes first to see if the use case can work.
