Program Strategy
Rounds are hard to run and how to get people to run rounds
- Progressive decentralization to have others run a round
- Comp for a round operator is proportional to a round
- how do we decide the rounds?
- Steward council gets to choose rounds and select them
- What broader goals does this program strategy help us achieve?
- Is there a max amount you need to be below ($250K) to apply?
- Do we have a set round we always support?
- How do we get to quarterly sustainable funds?
- How do we fund round operators? / Incentive for round operators?
- Do we have a sustainable round? What would success look like for a sustainable round?
Gitcoin core program rounds and then Gitcoin featured rounds
- Can’t enforce anyone to run a round and take whatever percentage they take
- We need a way to charge a fee that is reasonable and then give them a percentage
- Gitcoin endorsed will provide categories
Round selection process feels like they ask different causes to compete with each other and people are pissed off
Biggest issue:
- How do we create less fighting for our support vs people wanting to participate
- SDGs might be a good reference point of core areas we are willing to support
Criteria based vs round specific based
Notion to be nominated to run a round and max support and regardless we have to support cause rounds regardless in onboarding
