I'll spin up a prep doc that we share and work from during the convo. I record in Riverside.fm and will send you a link to the studio. We'll record audio only, although the platform supports video. If on mobile you need to download the free app. Otherwise browser-based.
Reminders
  • please put devices in focus mode, and Discord in Streamer Mode if you have it open.
  • Please try to be in a quiet environment (turn off or move away from whirring motors, fans, traffic). Close the window please if next to a noisy street or in a flight corridor.
  • Don’t fidget with cords, keyboard. If your swivel chair is noisy, lock it in place or switch to a different chair.
  • We can fix a lot of issues, but better source makes better output and saves time. Don't sweat it, just please be mindful of these things.

Regarding microphones
  • If possible, and use the best mic you have. If you have usb mic like a yeti, great. Ideally, position it 8”-12” from your mouth and away from whirring fans.
  • Airpods are fine if that's all you have. They’re good at noise cancellation, but don’t rely on that alone.
  • Jabra and other headset-type devices are generally problematic, especially if you are flipping the mic out of the way, or if it is too close to your mouth while speaking.
  • Avoid using built-in mics and speakers.
  • If using wired headsets, avoid having its cable parallel to any power cord. This may introduce line noise and is difficult to repair in post-production.
