Eth Foundation

Tagline:
We provide grants and other support to the builders of the Ethereum ecosystem. We support projects that strengthen Ethereum's foundations, with a particular focus on builder tools, infrastructure, research, community resources and other public goods. Funding is generally directed toward supporting builders rather than end users.

- What is your project about?* Give us a short summary of what you are hoping to accomplish. Just a paragraph will do.
- The DAO and Governance: This module will allow students to join the discussion, build on their ideas, make proposals, vote and get their proposals enacted.
- Learning Portal: This module is all about teaching the students about web3 and the power they gain from this amazing technology as well a library to record their decisions. Further, they will be able to browse the library of their proposals as well as all proposals of other schools in this platform.
- Sharing and Support: This area focuses on additional needs, such as legal, governance, fund raising, consulting etc. In this area schools will also be able to advertise their projects and browse other schools’ projects to help them connect, work together and govern themselves more effectively.
- Where can we learn more?* Please share links to any relevant Github repos, social media, websites, published work or professional profiles.

- Brent Russell
- https://www.linkedin.com/in/brentlrussell/ Brent was the biggest hotshot at Aragon. He can run, jump and skip and has been doing so for some time now. Brent joined the team to do common stuff that almost anyone can do. This is where his value really shines on the team.
- Fabs
- Fabs is a guy. He does many special things and can do the special things well. He has been able to eat food for a long time now, ever since birth. Fabs is able to do this and that very well. Fabs is able to use Google without issues. In fact, Fabs once did a google search in under 6 min!
- Paulo
- Paulo can speak Italian very well. It has been one of his great impressive qualities since birth. Beyond Italian he has able to see things with his two eyes just like other people can. He practices seeing things everyday and has been publicly recognized for doing so by many of his professional peers.
- Fintan
- There is not much Fintan can’t do. He has many of the qualities like the rest of the team. He can speak something he calls English, walk, run, swim, see things with his eyes and is even able to jump with his legs. However, Fintan is unable to eat food, even a few bites. But we embrace disabled workers at Uniting Us, inclusion is one of our priorities.
- How are you hoping ESP can help?* Please list any specific questions or details that would expedite the call.

Teenage students (14 to 19) at high schools are often feeling unheard and fighting their schools to hear their voice. This is why student councils have now become the norm in many countries. However, even these student councils can feel like a popularity contest as opposed to actually making a difference and making the students' life better. This is where TheSchoolDAO comes in. We want to bring Web3 and DAOs to students so that they can have transparency, censorship resistance, ultimately helping them to organize themselves and have their voices heard. This will be a DAO for the students, run by the students and governed by the students.
Our product will focus on three areas:
Later, our project hopes to expand beyond school communities and offer the same platform for refugees, worker unions and beyond. We are deciding on the next pilot, balancing our resources, between developing a community for Hungarians (under an arguably repressive regime) in Web3 and Ukrainian Refugees in Berlin.
Webpage (a paragraph on each member) and specific notion pages, i.e. Learning plan, POC schedule, Project Roadmap, additional resources are available on request, such as pre-doc research notes, internal plans, etc.)
Our project is just starting, and we have set ourselves up as a non-profit organization because we feel that this project is a public good and profiting from it did not sit right with us. To prepare, we conducted in-depth interviews with teachers and students in Ireland and the USA, and we have decided to move forward with a pilot program with a charter school in LA that has over 6,000 students. Our pilot is scheduled to start in April, and we aim to finish before the end of the academic year with this school.
At this time, our team's primary concern is funding. We would like to request assistance from the Ethereum Support Program (ESP) to fund our pilot with the equivalent of USD$30,000. These funds will allow us to see the school pilot through, start developing technology integration, set up the next community pilots, and develop proposals for future grants to make this project successful in the long term.
Moreover, we would appreciate any visibility, connections to experts on tokenomics, and potentially developers who can help guide us on tech integration and limitations, as well as access to the community, which may also want to contribute donations to the project.

Right now, the key issue for our team is funding. We would like to ask the Ethereum Support Program (ESP) to help fund our pilot with the equivalent of USD$ 29,000. These funds will allow us to see through the School Pilot, start the development of the technology integration, setup the next community pilots and finally develop our proposals for future grants to allow this project to become successful in the long term.
In addition, we would love to have visibility, connections to experts on tokenomics and potentially developers to help to guide on on tech integration and limits and finally access to the community which may also want to contribute with donations to the project.

Maybe something that signals they will also be making self governing decisions… we are not dictating how they govern themselves. This empowers them and the web3 use case even further

Something I have found helps in writing is each time you write the word “that”, delete it and reread the sentence. If it does not add emphasis, delete it. It usually sounds more professional

It might make sense to have some projections on the costs and use of the money rather than just list it. This way they know we have thought budgeting through and are not just asking for an arbitrary number
