The Nomination Process starts with a nomination window where a Department Member expresses interest in a Role, with a Sesh bot poll, and becomes a Nominee. The Nominees undergoes a Review Process by Department Members during the Nomination Window. When the review is finished the Election consideration process begins and a member is either a Candidate, able to participate in an Election, or they are not a Candidate for Election.
The Election Process is the Process where Active Department Members cast votes in favor of their preferred candidate for Election to a Role.
For various reasons, most of which are not because of mal intent but because of IRL, Department Members may need to Remove Role Holders from their Role or Remove themselves from a Role, it’s responsibilities, and the compensation tied to the fulfillment of those responsibilities.
A Term is defined as two BanklessDAO Seasons. This includes any extensions to that season. Currently 16 weeks, including a Gap Week.
In order to hold a role in the education department you must have the Active Education Department Members Role Tag for 2 seasons.
Definition: Membership is defined as anyone who is an upholding their role holder duties, a multi sig signer, teaches a how to session or knowledge session, attends 5 how to or knowledge sessions a season as a learner or support role, or completes 3 bounties over a seasons.
Nominees will self-nominate and express interest in the #edu-gov channel with a poll and post their expressions of interest within the first 72 hours of the Nomination Window.
Once posted to #edu-gov channel, the Nomination Consideration process will begin and Role Holders will have the ability to approve or deny a nominee if they do not meet the requirements of the Role Holder Position. If approved the nominee will become a candidate for election. The nomination poll will be gated to “Education Department Role Holders”.
Existing role holders will be responsible for raising awareness of the Nomination and Election process. Role Holders will raise awareness of nominations and elections 5 weeks prior to the end of the season for which elections are held.
The list of Candidates available for each Role Holder Election and will be collated and published to the #edu-gov and #edu-announcement channels in a timely manner.
Any rejected nominee will have a discussion thread posted in #edu-gov (discussion channel) this will explain the cause of rejection. If needed the discussion can be moved to the Ombud folk.
Should more than one person be a Candidate for Election, then a run-off election will take place to confirm the Candidate(s) to the Role. The winner of the election will be determined by a Simple Majority Strategy. The person with the most votes wins.
need to confirm use of dao eth domain or subdomain for snapshot. zifi is checking with dao on subdomain possiblility, ernest suggest buying a domain if needed with dept funds.
Incase of a tie, we will generate a weighted Governator Bot poll to break the tie
A Role Holder may declare to Department Members about their intention to step down at any time.
INVOLUNTARY NO-CONFIDENCE vote can be suggested by a Role Holder to resign any other role holder, who in the sentiment of the Department, is not performing their roles adequately. Super Majority as the strategy (2/3rd) for the Involuntary or No Confidence Vote.
The Role Holder in question may vote in the Involuntary or No Confidence Poll. The Role Holder Holder in question may also bring their objections to the Ombud Folk.
A quorum requirement of 70% of Active Department Members must vote in order for the vote to be valid
If the Department Members vote to remove a role holder, it shall be effected immediately at the close of the Removal/Resignation Poll.
Each Role can be held by a single Guild Member for no more than 4 consecutive Terms. However, a member can be elected in a new Role.
All Role Holders must be at minimum an L1(Which means locking up at least 40K BANK) at the time of nomination and for the entirety of their Term. This must be held in their wallet that is connected via collab.land through the Bankless DAO server. If a role holder lost L1 status, they will have seven days to recoup L1 status before termination.
Role Holders agree to attend the scheduled meeting times or they should not nominate themselves for the role. If role holders are not able to attend meetings or do their work in an async manner then a proposal to remove them from their role can be initiated or they can choose remove themselves.
Roles -are a grouping of responsibilities/behaviors, within pods or groups, that members commit to doing for a period of time. They do not grant formal powers over others, however they may manage access to guild resources. Roles are generally incentivised positions. Members with and without roles must all follow the same governance processes.
Multiple individuals can share the responsibilities of a role if they all consent to a social agreement explaining, to guild members, how the responsibilities & incentives will be shared.
Active members tag will be reviewed and assigned seasonally to members who meet up with the membership criteria and also taken off members who are inactive for a whole season
Nominees are limited to Department Members who actively participated in the previous 2 season, i.e. did not lose their active education department role tag.
If there are Strong Objection(s), by Role Holders, to the Candidate(s) the Election Window will remain open or be restarted until the Strong Objection is resolved.
