Agenda
NEW GOVERNANCE FRAMEWORK
  • Multi-sig (stepping down)
    • Not a whole lot of effort to do this, but it takes bandwidth
    • Make role holders the multi-sig signers
    • After the governance framework is ratified, we’ll switch the multi-sig signers at once
  • Plagiarized work
    • What’s the process for discovering plagiarism?
      • Plagiarism checkers online
        • One embedded in the EPA workflow spreadsheet
    • Seems to be about feel
      • how do you teach feel?
    • What is the process of deliberation?
      • Chain of evaluation:
        • Leaders in respective projects
        • EPA Staff Editors
        • Ombuds
      • “2 strikes and you’re out” system
        • Scribe —> Scribbler —> Kicked out of Guild
    • From the staff editors proposal: ”If a Staff Editor identifies an act of plagiarism, the Staff Editor will speak with the writer to understand the writer’s intent. The Staff Editor will then escalate the issue to EPA role holders, who will work with the writer to determine a path forward. There will be cases where the plagiarism was a case of cultural difference, forgetfulness, or accident. In these cases, the EPA role holders will educate the individual in the first instance. If the intent was deemed malicious or possibly malicious, action will be taken. This action could involve but is not limited to: education on plagiarism and how to avoid it, temporary suspension from writing articles, and/or escalation to the Guild. The Guild will handle role demotion if deemed necessary. If issues of plagiarism occur multiple times, EPA role holders will escalate the issue to the Guild immediately for further action.”
      • where/how does strike system integrate?
      • Plagiarism for next iteration of gov doc
  • Ratification
    • Put it up to a Poll
    • Hiro suggested: Put it on IPFS or Forum or Github
      • So that you can’t edit doc during ratification
      • Jake will set up a Github for the WG
      • Sam mentioned Skiff (Web3 Doc Collab)
        • she’s lead explorer
      • Put gov doc on Forum and link that to the ratification poll
  • Write an article on the governance doc (improvements and iteration)
    • Highlight the systems we’re using (Sam is talking about writing an article)
  • Governance Coordinator
    • Election for Governance Coordinator
  • Mandatory time off (Nonsense)
    • 1 week
    • Shared calendar (role holders/project leads)
    • Nonsense: Scribes get a UBI for their time off
      • Need to figure out accounting
    • Use bounties or ask others to step in
    • Staking? Treasury Guild?
    • So start S4 or ASAP?
    •
Undiscussed
  • What do partnerships with other organizations look like?
    • How to evaluate alignment
  • Amendment process —> Need a lot of consensus
    • Write a proposal and need x% of people vote with some threshold

Notes
  • We still have some granular issues to address within the governance framework doc, hiro proposed that we address these in S3 at the beginning of S3 and regularly update the governance ASAP and continue to update it
