Refugee DAO Meeting 2

Possible Funding sources:

Ricardo Communication:
  1. Hard to get officially involved
  1. Probably would not have bandwith to lead the project
What type of company:
  • NGO
  • DAO
They mirror each other but they will allow us to access different fund streams Governance: 1 person 1 vote
How to reward contribution:
  • Be as transparent as possible with each other.
  • Show each other during each meeting what’ve done. Including the hours worked in a database.
  • If we get funded we pay ourselves retroactively, trying to keep a long runway for the project
Ricardo: realistically 5 hours a week at the beginning
Merging the School and Refugee project?
MVP:
  1. Focus on Ukraine (no visa issue, already offering funds)
  1. Let’s form a DAO to help them self-organize
  1. Forum and learning platform
What can they vote on:
  1. Finding their top needs
  1. Visa
  1. Work
  1. Accomodation
  1. Overall integration
  1. Leisure
  1. School
  1. Health
  1. Language
  1. Help small business (micro credit)
  1. Remittances
  1. Legal
Focus on what ngos are not providing: Work / Micro Credit / Leisure
  • Accesso to a focus group (signaling vote)
  • Profiling has to be considered: Best profile: Ukrainian women that speak relatively good English
GZA: refugee in shelter getting paid 80cent per hour to help in what the shelter need. Up to 50 refugees per shelter
What is our weakness: - We don’t have a touch point among refugees - Profiles (very different situations among men/women ; underaged/elderly etc.)
Our product:
  • Education on web3
  • Use web3 to thrive (self-organize)
  • Services that can be uild on top of that
To do list:
  • Identify someone that can act as a translator (Paolo)
  • Get in touch with some people on the field (Ricardo)
  • Make a list of questions that we want to validate for the MVP (Paolo, Fabs, Fintan)
  • List of potential funding sources (Fintan)
  • Get in touch with UkraineDAO (Paolo)
  • Check in eventual streams of funds from the Netherlands (Fabs)
