DoubleB will bring the above idea to a forum proposal
  • Switching from geography-based to language-based
  • Idea: Add language-based and archive geographies as they get old or become unused
  • If we did this, what languages would we start with?
  • Ask @DoubleB to write a spec on what he wants and how he sees this being executed (what's the vision?) ← action
Ask Degen team if they are able to create a command to summon Craig or Giarc
  • Droste.eth to do research on to move forward on this.
  • The fundamental question is how these 3 bots interact and the docs are not accurate right now.
  • On pause for now - when AV guild finds a better bot, we'll move forward with that.
This Week
  • Re-distributing workload
    • Share with the newer/regular faces
    • Identify what is we actually do (bot requests, reaction roles, systems)
    • What is the mission and services of this guild? What are our workstreams?
    • Formalize these responsibilities (at least a start but could pose difficult as ops activity can be hard to strictly delineate)
    • Kanban board of Ops tasks
    • What is Ops? Keeping the lights on aka ensuring the systems needed by DAO are maintained such that the rest of the DAO can function efficiently.
    • We will follow up separately on what some of these responsibilities are and how that work can better be distributed. [thread started in Ops general]
  • Coordinape briefing (for October)
    • Talk through the latest two simultaneous rounds that went live.
    • Should people be allowed to enter the round after it has already started?
    • If so, this causes overhead for the person who needs to add you, and it means people would have to jump back in to allocate to you.
    • If a person is in the server minimally through the week, it would seem hard to miss such an important announcement.
    • It should be noted that this is the first time we have done a monthly coordinate round. At least in the timing of the deadlines.
    • It should also be noted that the coordinape mechanism is only one of the remuneration methods of the DAO. There are grants, bounties, roles, etc.
    • Ops could announce an imperfect rollout and lessons learned (people who missed will be added)
    • Also, announce the payments structures and any upcoming coordinapes at the beginning and end of all community calls.
  • DAO Cartographer
      • Request to do Discord bot deploy on Thursday in ops working session
      • The full launch
      • Discord channel, official recurring seshbot meeting, bot install, and announcement.
      • Baseline: Member directory
      • CAUTION: We must be careful to not train people to trust DM bots outside of the server. Instead, let's reach out to projects/guilds and let them know that this is something that is happening. The Cartographers will need to do this 1:1 socialization ahead of time.
      Forum post had feedback to define token stream amounts upfront (even though free trial for a season). Confirm that it is the ops-guild budget that will cover tools like this and identify who from Ops will lead out finalizing terms w/ Sobol team
      • This is free for this season and Sobol will take payment in BANK in the future.
      • The goal is to settle on a fixed monthly token stream.
      • Should be seen on the same level as the other DAO tooling (Discord, Discourse, etc).
      • Non-DAO pricing would be something like $5 a user a month but Sobol wants to bring this back to something more manageable given the uniqueness of the DAO space.
      • 5k BANK a month for the first six months to a year. (Initial estimate from AboveAverageJoe and confirmed by Frog) Bpetes will take this number back to Sobol team for consideration.
        Advice on where to set up a channel for this program (we're looking to open up our recurring Friday meetings to full DAO participation)
        • Under OpsGuild (AboveAverageJoe will spin up the channel)
    • NPS + Comments embedded in the Coordinape form
      • Extremely successful process: measured the morale of the DAO
      • NPS of 68 is a truly great score. NPS calc source.
      • 151 participants added 2 qualitative comments each
