Metis
Description
Please clearly state what the project is about, what problems this project is trying to solve, why the project thinks those problems are important and why you or your team are the one to solve those problems.
The project was born after the Fellowship program, ran by RnDAO, where we explored the problem itself for 3 months. Here’s the whitepaper here: https://mirror.xyz/migrenaa.eth/RwxcpsCkoeKITWNNadpVqwgcBW2hVr-xQIK2p7AATD8
Compensation in centralized organizations is tricky, and even trickier in decentralized ones, embracing collaboration. To achieve a collaborative environment, we need to align incentives in the team. Web3 has been exploring that since its beginning and yet, we still don't have a tool that covers the needs of an early-stage team.
Early-stage teams struggle to maximize their runway while attracting talent and building a strong team to deliver on a common goal.
Contributors seek recognition and rewards (oftentimes in ownership) according to their contributions to the project. Contributors are often frustrated with the lack of financial distribution and ownership and they feel discomfort negotiating their salaries. Furthermore, compensation based on negotiation, often results in unfairness, as not everyone has the skill set to do that.
The founders, on the other hand, struggle to form the team as they are not in a place to give competitive salaries.
Collabberry is uniquely positioned as a token launchpad that not only solves compensation challenges but also fosters more engaged and motivated communities. We’re passionate about shaping the future of work, where collaboration is fairly rewarded, and every team member can own a piece of the success.
We’re a part of the RnDAO alliance, levaraing on their experience and mentorship. Our core team is of 4, with over 15 years of experience in web3 combined. We have a strong focus on customer development and user testing, lead by Nickolay, with over 15 years of startup, product building and COO experience. On the other hand we have a strong technical team, lead by Milena, previously CTO and cofounder of Aut Labs.
The idea for Collabberry came out of the RnDAO Fellowship program, where we spent three months diving deep into the problem of compensation in decentralized teams. You can check out our whitepaper here: whitepaper link.
Compensation is a challenge in centralized organizations, and even more so in decentralized ones that rely on collaboration. To create a truly collaborative environment, we need to align incentives within the team. Web3 has been trying to address this from the start, but early-stage teams still don’t have a tool that meets their specific needs.
These teams often face the tough balance of extending their runway while attracting talent and building a cohesive group to achieve their goals. Contributors want recognition and rewards that reflect their contributions, which often means ownership. However, many find it frustrating when financial distribution and ownership don’t reflect their efforts, and salary negotiations can be uncomfortable and unfair, especially for those without the skills to advocate for themselves.
Founders, on the other hand, struggle to build their teams because they can’t offer competitive salaries in the early stages.
This is where Collabberry comes in. As a team points token launchpad, we not only solve compensation challenges but also help foster more engaged and motivated communities. We’re passionate about creating a future of work where collaboration is fairly rewarded, and every team member can share in the success.
We’re part of the RnDAO alliance, benefiting from their experience and mentorship. Our core team of four has over 15 years of combined web3 experience. Nickolay leads customer development and user testing, with more than 15 years of experience in startups, product building, and operations. On the technical side, Milena, previously the CTO and co-founder of Aut Labs, leads our development efforts. Together, we are focused on building a solution that truly serves the needs of early-stage teams. We are compensation nerds - check out our latest blog post here https://mirror.xyz/0xbE5Fc9e8F3AD6EA0bD0562C59De70B5cc723C9d3/zjgeseqFvhKzcvSin4KbH_dWfm-gDKLx1VC5_pTGAMg

Competitors
Who are your competitors? Are there any similar existing solutions on Metis?
We don’t have any direct competitors on Metis, which puts Collabberry in a unique position within this ecosystem. While there are similar tools in the wider web3 space, like Coordinape, which focuses on peer-to-peer compensation and recognition, it's not a direct competitor. Collabberry provides a more comprehensive solution, covering compensation and offering a team points token launchpad, with peer-to-peer assessments being just one part of what we do.

Ecosystem
How will the project contribute to the Metis ecosystem?
The Metis ecosystem stands to benefit greatly from having an on-chain compensation solution like Collabberry. By using our protocol, more projects can be launched on Metis, allowing them to bootstrap their points tokens directly within the ecosystem, further driving growth and collaboration on the platform.
