Oluwasijibomi started the meeting by welcoming everyone to the
call and also asking if there is any new member present on the call but there was
no new member present.
ROLE HOLDERS' UPDATE
North Wind
Latsan said there is no much update from the Northwind pod. The
ethereal multisig signers have been updated and now have 4 role holders and 3 active
members. The active membership was based on last season's activities i.e Season
6. He also gave an update to expect coordinate sign up in the coming week as the
month has almost ended while he encourage active and eligible members to fill the
form once it is out.
Finally, the Northwind office hour is every Tuesday by 8pm UTC
and that new members and anyone with questions can come around with their questions.
East Wind
Etrinity said there is an issue about new members not having
tags and this has been solved and that tasks have been setup on dework for new members
to complete so they can have the tags, new members are encouraged to complete the
dework tasks. Also, If you are a practitioner or higher and are interested in testing wonderverse,
please sign up for the Research Guild Wonderverse section, where you can see
tasks begin to appear throughout the season.
Etrinity said he hasn’t really heard any input on research methodologies or topics
that members would be interested in learning, so he is in the process of
building a task to help contributors nail down exactly what they want to learn.
Oluwasijibomi added that the Eastwind needs prectitioners to help out on the ‘Paid Governance
is Good Governance’ research. Aloy also said that indicating interest in the guild
channel is not enough but people should also go ahead to show interest on dework
by applying.
West Wind
Crown gave an update on a lettucemeet link which he sent earlier, he said only few folks
interacted with it and he encouraged anyone who hasn’t done that to do as they are
trying to pick a suitable time that works for everyone. Crown also said there’s
a new idea for knowledge sessions, they are going to be interacting with lead
of projects in Daos, and will invite them to teach on their projects and also
explain how folks can get involved in the project.
South Wind
Vickyone gave an update on the new folks they have been able to onboard in the past week
amounting to 4, including; Boluwatife, Ifeoluwakiitan, Ednuk and Kolaawole. Also,
the google form for the intake of new members has been curated and completed
and it would be sent to the new onboarded members shortly to fill. New members are
encouraged to be expectant and fill the form as soon as it is sent out. The new
joiners task has already been created on dework to engage new folks and we will
do well to assist all new members in completing their tasks to ensure a hitch
free onboarding experience.
He added that the South wind role holders already have access to the dework page and
would start engaging new members and putting them through the dework tasks so
as to get them involved. South Wind office hour would hold tomorrow by 5pm UTC so all members
that need clarifications or would like to discuss anything within the guild
should free to come around. South
wind role holders already have access to the dework page and would start
engaging new members and putting them through the dework tasks so as to get
them involved.
PROJECT UPDATES
Oluwasijibomi asked if there is any ongoing project in the guild and Latsan gave an update on
the Health Chatter Research and he encouraged people to join them on Wednesday to
discuss on the project going forward.
Oluwasijibomi also gave his stables on the stable coin research saying their first meeting of
the season held last week and articles have been submitted as they are looking to
edit the articles so they can be published and are hoping to get some funds from
the guild for the editorial work and workgroup renumeration.
In response to the update, SpiritedF said the guild budget is very tight and doesn’t look possible
to get funds for the project from the guild while Zara also said if there’s no funding
for the project, there won’t be motivation for the workgroups. SpritedF maintained
that the budget is just so tight except if there will be removal from role holders’
salary or coordinape.
Latsan spoke on the need to upgrade from current level to another and also explained what
is required of every level member.
Oluwasijibomi asked Latsan why tasks have not been available on dework and it was responded to
saying they are working on it already and tasks would be available soon. Oluwasijibomi
also asked about how to move the stable coin project forward since there is no funding
at the moment, how to go about the editorial work and the workgroup renumeration. Latsan suggested talking to the writers guild
to get it published on their weekly roll up . SpiritedF supported the idea and Olu
will be joining the writers guild meeting later today and see how it goes from there.
Earnest Of Gaia also gave updates on the rewards and compensation research and also talked about collaborations and opportunities
for researchers.
SpiritedF asked if those who participated in the stable coin research are eligible for cordinape
to see if they can be compensated through cordinape but they are not, while at that,
they are encouraged to get on the dework tasks to make them eligible.
Latsan spoke on Researcch guild health chatter, talking about avoiding web3 and dao burnout,
a lot of folks are suffering burnout due to chasing a lot of opportunities in web3
and daos. He said people should focus on one or two opportunities as against wanting
to be everywhere and doing every job. He also encourage members to sleep and take
time to rest as sound health should be priority.
Summarily, Last said, don’t chase too many things at a time,
rather focus on one or two and give it your best.
The meeting ended as Oluwasijibomi declared the meeting closed as there was no other
things to discuss.
