Apps Landscape Research Method
Here is the process we use to map the App Landscape in 4 steps:
- Research looking for Apps in a certain niche (eg. governance)
- Add them to the Database we’re building for each specific initiative and add new ones to the Tools Database
- Post a Twitter thread and ask the community to engage and add their favorites. "Here are 6 Apps in [niche]. Which ones are missing?" (framed in a way that's not the be-all, end-all list)
- DM relevant people asking them
- Ask in relevant Communities
- Revisit the replies, collect the apps shared by the community, and [step 2]
The output is an image with all the symbols of the apps of all the niches in collab tech and an up-to-date database of tools and apps.
