New members:
  • 2spencer – attorney from LexDao licensed in Massachusetts (applying for license in California) fundraising and M&A work experience
  • Fiyin – senior product designer, joined that guild a couple months ago
  • Kaz7 – attorney from Kentucky, has been practicing for 16 years, mostly litigation, fascinated by web3
  • LordRanchoatos – software engineer (what he said was mostly inaudible)
  • Mangin – law student (second year), graduate from international business (bachelor studies), passionate about web3
  • gd-discord (did not introduce him/herself)
Newsletter:
  • COYSrUS – great content editor (big shoutout  )
  • the upcoming edition will feature 7 articles on NFT
Website:
  • Decentralized Law to be turned into an independent bloc
  • Website could promote NFT-gated legal reports and research content
  • We don’t have extra budget for the development of the website – we need a volunteer to prepare a website
  • Sponsors could pay the website developers/designers (on-going payments)
  • It can be a wordpress-like website (something easy to design and moderate)
  • fiyin volunteered to do the work
  • website will strengthen the DL’s project sustainability
GTG:
  • Mint has started
  • We want to add jurisdictions (we have money for three more jurisdictions)
  • But we could find funds for up to 5 more jurisdictions
DAO Entity project update:
  • Initial document that outlines the project has been prepared
  • First we need to figure out what parameters we are looking for
  • Jurisdictions to be researched are to be elected (to narrow down the scope)
  • 5-10 jurisdictions
  • Questionnaire form for contributors (a framework)
  • Preferably, each jurisdiction should be covered by an attorney with experience in setting-up different legal entities
  • There is no tight deadline anticipated
  • Specific timeline to be discussed
  • Corporate governance, liability protections limits, taxation, regulatory stuff, what documents need to be drafted to set-up an entity, whether we need an attorney to set-up an entity – points to be addressed
  • Please just have a deadline ;), even if it’s long
  • Have someone responsible for each jurisdiction (to build accountability)
Digital nomads project:
  • Good jurisdictions to migrate – that what the guide will cover
  • The proposal to get funding is almost ready
  • Collaboration with DAOPunks to be thought over but we should be cautious about running out of funding
  • The question is whether jengajojo.eth wants to do it within the Legal Guild or separately / in cooperation with DAOPunks
Digital nomads project:
  • The last podcast of the pilot series is to be published soon (it will feature a lawyer experienced in crypto space)
Open discussion:
  • Look-out for volunteers to add new jurisdictions to the GTG: Mangin (Mexico), Kaz7 (UAE - Dubai), teresacd (on Panama once the tax law on crypto enters into force)
