Web3 Mastermind Groups is a collective effort to support resource sharing, collaboration, and innovation among web3 builders.
The primary ongoing purpose is to facilitate mastermind groups—5 person p2p mentorship groups.
W3MG can also hold larger conferences for members and help facilitate retreats for individual MGs.
Organizational Structure
The W3MG organization is a not for profit umbrella for many teams across the ecosystem.
Business Model
MGs are paid communities that donate their funds to grants. Members of the MG can decide to fund grants facilitated by W3MG<>Gitcoin or potentially non-profits outside of the W3MG ecosystem.
Mastermind Groups
MGs are 5 person p2p mentorship groups. They help individuals reach their personal and professional growth goals by facilitating knowledge sharing, accountability, and encouragement. They are curated and highly structured with expectations that include small monetary contributions (to ensure commitment), regular participation in video calls, asynchronous communication via chatroom and in person gatherings when possible.
 
The make up of the group is crucial to its success. Members in an MG should have:
  1. similar but varying levels of technical and non-technical knowledge and experience in the web3 space
  1. some shared cultural experiences/personal identities (e.g. gender, ethnicity, language, etc)
  1. different backgrounds in terms of projects, people, and perspectives they have worked with
  1. similar values and different opinions
  1. pre-existing desire to share their thoughts and experiences and hear the same from others
