Pictosis: An Open Web for Creators
People
Description / What is your motivation?
Pictosis creates an open web and framework for digital goods and creative content. We remove the need for intellectual property or DRM with NFTs that have highly granular attribution capabilities and auto generate revenue based on their impact across the web, whether a blog post, an email, or a tweet! We are pushing forth open source business models by providing the sovereignty and portability of open source, but without relying so much on donation or patronage.
We are currently planning the launch of a Web 3 publishing house - think of it as decentralized e reader marketplace and distribution. We will be publishing the foremost books on token economics and token engineering.
Our extension market place enables customization of NFT functionality. For example, you can enable your NFT to contain different types of content (music, imaging, mixed media, application code) or policies around the NFT (governance systems, sub-tokens, contractual obligations, internal bonding curves, etc) that any developer can publish to and earn revenue based on the impact of the projects who use it.

📣 How can KB2 help? Anything goes.
I need a technical writer to help finish many papers and blogs we have begun. Consultants on business, legal and fundraising are also very helpful

Jan 14 2021: My plan for this page; my plan for Pictosis
This page will hold different sections based on ideas borne of conversations and contemplations as well as the progress of Pictosis, whether a result of or, conversely, coinciding with Kernel participation.
I don't have too many prematurely structured plans for how to utilize this page, what its primary purpose is, etc... All I know is that I feel that it will be valuable to update it with Pictosis ramblings. So, the purpose of its use seems to be two-fold: to yield that yet-to-be-defined value of rambling and to reveal its primary purpose (of which the ambiguous-value-yielding may be one component or entirely orthogonal to said purpose).
Progress today:
- Began further refinement on whitepaper (hopefully finish this weekend)
- Nearly complete with official slide deck → a quick explainer of Pictosis
- Updated our website to reflect that Economics Design will be publishing the first official DeFi textbook on the world's first web 3 publishing house that will launch on Pictosis at the same time Pictosis is publicly launched
What I realize Pictosis still needs:
- Legal support

First update - we've secured legal support thanks to some connections formed as a result of Kernel!
Second update: Here is the summary of the Problematic Property junto that discussed intellectual property, digital goods, NFTs, and future directions:

Wow, haven't updated in a while. I've been swamped; extremely busy. After that, I fell sick and was extremely slowed by this.
First, some updates:
- We have been discussing with multiple projects, and more grants are coming our way! The opportunity for a $50k and $100k grant for us to build! I'm looking forward to seeing what our team can do with a small, but powerful kernel of capital
I entered this program with very little expectations or assumptions. This is effective for keeping an open mind, but ineffective for focus. The focus for Pictosis's journey in this program has since become clearer.
Goals for Kernel
- Produce a finalized formalization of the economics
- Produce a finalized formalization of the core Pictosis protocols. This formalization should not merely be mathematical descriptions, but core contracts & executable models
- Finalize architectural design
- Produce beautiful diagrams of all of the above
- Spend more time on user stories, so that we have a clear set of use cases to appeal to
- Conjure up all the discipline I have to focus on one set of use cases; don't try to "boil the ocean".. This could be creator economy, a niche creator audience, a particular discipline or domain, etc.
- Develop a prototype of the core SDK for interactions
- Turn all of the above into a whitepaper
- Research and apply this research so that by the end of Kernel, Pictosis is a fully fledged project, with legal standing, run by a DAO
