Intros:
Becoming a team is number one. Then we get into ideas and solutions. Let's get to know each other.
Rotorless: From CA. LAwyer. Was in aviation in the military. In the DAO since start. bDAO first DAO. Now in all of them. Heavy in the nonprofit sector. On the board for CA TLD group. Super interested in governance (even the scary ones). On treasury management core team at ShapeShift. Also working part-time for polygon on technical governance.
Justice: my stuff
Manuel: Business analyst. Degree in psychology. Worked in waterfall, agile, product/project management. Left because it felt lifeless. Was traveling and working for a while. Always a self-starter and startup-minded. Prefers to work in a team. Discovered crypto lately and knew right away it was huge. Been in the DAO since October. Loves to go as high as he can and look down at the system. Spent time in education guild. Broke out more highly compensated roles into smaller specific functions. He’s eager to get into the maco coming from the micro.
Saulthorin: Background in psychology. Finishing dissertation in organizational psychology. Worked for DOD and doing consulting. Cofounded a data analytics company. Been in the DAO from early and started with analytics guild. Helped start the DAO dash project. Also worked withing research guild. Was working for Deloit last year doing org design work. She also runs TalendDAO and some other orgs.
Above Average Joe: Eagle scout in his bones. Draws some insight from the way that org works in its decentralized kinda way. Came from blue-collar work but always had his finger on the pulse of crypto. Went down the rabbit hope on defi/crypto with defipedia several years ago. Got a hefty crash course in startup life from that. Came from HQ and he gravitated from that server to the DAO one and put all defipedia on the backburner. He’s been in the deepest crash-course on all web3 for last 8 months. He’s working closely for gm.zyx to move that forward. Had many other opportunities but they are on hold for a time. If he would make a move it would be in the polygon DAO side of things. Until then he wants to leverage bankless consulting when/if needed.

Social governance vs technical governance. (laye1 vs layer0 ones below the other depending on how you look at it.)
Polygon DAO vs Polygon Ecosystem DAO.

What do we do about this next season?
The risk to both a yes and no is implosion. What level is the risk? Does the risk warrant a delay in seasonal planning?
All ShapeShift is doing is stacking stables in the treasury. They do this to make payroll and never sell stable. Smart folks are saying you need a two-year runway to make it.
Rotorless feels treasury dynamics are a mystery.
Should we do a risk analysis of the current state of the risk?
This falls within the scope of the GSE and it would serve even future GSEs.
We need to build into the spec that GSE can advise changes midstream..
What is the adverse effect of not paying out? A mass exodus.
What is the revenue the DAO needs to reach sustainability?
30 mil bank a season going out. (11 mil month)
Joe thinks the Olympus pro situation is the major cause of the bank price right now.
Saulthorin thinks we should do monthly payouts..
Tokenomics is talking to Frax about doing a Bank CDP. This is not ready at the moment.
Rotorless: We don't have yield generating assets as a DAO? Could we buy some Eth to change this?

  1. Treasury management
  1. Remaining runway (solvency)
  1. Idle Bank
  1. Risk analysis (The power of user-centered forms. We don't have to theorize.) Rotorless head al in this. “You don't know where the opportunities are if you don't know where the risks are.”
  1. Pay process
  1. Tooling for projects at the grants committee
  1. Mission / Vision (What are we doing well? Maybe lean into that.)

Saulthorin: Research and info gathering from tokenomics/treasury management?
Justice: Could we ask seasonal planners to break their ask into 3 parts?
—> Monthly emission cycle. Community temp check 🚨 ←
Guilds may be overfunded?
How do other Guilds feel about this?

  1. Poll channel to capture the sentiment (Draft from Joseph Turner to go live by CC tomorrow.)
  1. Newsletter intros! (Quick blurb)
  1. Highlight poll in CC and newsletter.

The GSE provides a risk framework and the DAO has to decide what to do.
Let the groups grade themselves and use that to create a playbook as all fall within a relative estimation.

Parallels with the military.. (Both Joe and Rotorless speak on this. Extremely insightful and contrary to common impressions)

“Mission, vision, statement” in a strategic plan. A part of the risk assessment.

A regular cadence of meetings. Same block.
