Agenda
- Announcements
- New week! New energy!
- New member intro:
- Slate:He’s a writer and interested in contributing to the writers guild
- Guild Updates
- Talent Office (anointingthompson1):
- Discord has been giving him issues, so we've been doing a lot of revamping. The TC cohort is running smoothly and the apprentices are learning much better. We've assigned specific roles to V-Fi and Melasin. We've started coordinating talent and checking in the "Get Involved" channel to see where they want to contribute. We've created a database for tracking the progress of talent who join the Writers Guild. We've also reached out to some people; I think it has been shared with WinVerse. I'm happy and excited that we have new joiners in the guild. We're going to set up a Notion page. I'll be meeting with Trewkat tomorrow to discuss the TC tracking database. And tomorrow at 5pm UTC, we'll be meeting. The Talent Management Office is open to everyone who wants to get direction from the guild.
- Treasurer (Paulitobankless):
- The transaction for bounties and role holder payouts is ready to be sent, but we need two more signers. It was supposed to be executed already, but someone's address was compromised, so we had to reject that transaction and set up a new one. It should be sorted out by the end of tomorrow.
- Governance Coordinator (CoolCat):
- I’m looking for an apprentice! If you’re interested in WG governance, please message me.
- New proposal being released today for comment regarding WG membership tiers. Let’s chat about this TLDR today, and please comment on the proposal thread when it goes up!
- TLDR: Now is the time to streamline membership so that we are prepared for the bull market influx. Refresher on why we have tiered membership:
- Incentivize Guild members to participate and contribute to the Guild
- Keep governance decisions and leadership roles reserved for active contributors
- Monitor participation KPIs for seasonal funding requests to the Grants Committee
- Proposal seeks to:
- Eliminate tier 1 “Pupil”. It’s superfluous and does not align with goals
- Change the timeframe to for becoming a Scribe to three paid tasks within 4 months (not one season). This better reflects the ongoing nature of the Guild’s work, which does not stop and start with each season
- Change membership expiration for Scribbler & Scribe from six months to four months to better align with our season lengths. This will reduce operational stress by aligning both granting and revoking membership within the same timeframe.
- Marketing Coordinator (Angelspeaks):
- We’ve been doing what we know how to do best, shipping threads and educating people. Last week we had a thread from Taha and I think it’s his first time contributing. It was an article on centralized AI and it’s a very good one please check it out on Twitter. We also shipped the web3 story by Quilia. We are starting something really exciting very soon. We shipped a thread by Boluwatife and it was like a survey done by consensus on how far web3 has gone and how much people know about web3 and other stuff. Please check it out if you haven’t, it really gives you something to think about, it shows how much we’ve come together in this journey with different projects.
