Outcome: Passed ✅
Outcome Summary
This proposal passed, and a set standard will be set to accommodate the effects of volatility on the funds received by workstreams. The standard will be to use the 20 day moving average of $GTC. The GTC total will be adjusted based on the current market value at the time this proposal is moved to Tally. The vote will be to send $xxx, xxx in GTC at either the current price or the 20 day moving average (whichever is lower).
Proposal
- Joe - What to do when workstreams receive substantially less than they should have because of volatility
- FDD budget passed for $330,000 - When moved to Tally the spot price was used rather than the lower of spot vs 20 day ma ($550 with reserves - $268k in reserves held = $281k ask)
- 94,000 GTC for $281k requested = $2.99 price used - Did other streams use the lower of 20 day ma and spot? Should we standardize?
- Questions:
- Emu - How do we protect the treasury?
- Kyle - Contributor level, budgets have 2 months of “buffer”. Don’t know if we’ve ever gone back and look through commitment to spend vs actual spend. Most folks should be acting in good faith and moving contributors to spot.
- Annika - Asset liability mismatch (GTC/USD) - is there a way when executing budgets on Tally, because we’re agreeing to USD terms could we just have the USD amount be set on the spot price monthly as opposed to us taking on everything in the beginning of the quarter?
- Kris - Good idea, should put on the list of things we can optimize for S16 (and generally longer seasons)
- Jodi - Like as a proposal, curious to hear from folks that don’t agree.
- Kris - Any objections from what most WS put in their proposal (20 day ma)
- No
- Next Steps
- Standardize a set norm across the DAO (lower of)
- Outcome: Ratified
