jengajojo Music NFT Ideas
jengajojo shared an idea of a music-NFT incubator:
  • Contact artists who have medium to large followings through Twitter and Instagram
  • Work with them to produce a music NFT
  • They then promote it to their followers and we agree a profit split
  • Big artists will be very lucrative, but we should build some experience and credibility by aiming for medium-sized artists first
jengajojo has stated interest in collaborating with DAO Heat in forming the music-NFT incubator.
We could also use the writing from one person and get another person to read/sing it, giving both an equal profit split.
Key Considerations
We may want to get someone on our team from AV Guild who is good with music and/or visuals. Alternatively, we should consider bounties and the amount of time involved. But it would be awesome to get a great sound and visual editor onboard.
jengajojo has agreed to create a Google Doc noting his ideas. Over the next few weeks, we have agreed to share our ideas in this document and build it out, just like we did with DAO Heat’s proposal. Once we have done that, we will likely have finished the design contest and will be ready to take action on the music NFT project.
The music-NFT incubator would become a spin-off from DAO Heat, becoming its own project.
Writing Contest Results
Entries to contest: 23 full entries, 3 that were incomplete.
Selection Process
The 23 submissions will be split into 3 batches: 7 (Chris), 8 (FreedomFighter), 8 (Cheetah).
Each judge picks the best three in their batch. We all share our top 3 on Monday and agree the final five by Tuesday. Then on Tuesday we put it to a vote. The vote will run until Friday.
Also, we should document our selection process and make it available for people to read in future, to build confidence in our contests.
Tally Form
NFThinker will manage the submissions for future writing contests. AceBeautii will take over the Tally Form for the design contest, so there is no conflict of interest. The passwords will also be changed for additional security, so that only one person sees the submissions.
Form Updates
Add an input box for email addresses
Add links to our social media channels
Improve the disclaimer, letting people know that we may share their content on social media but that they retain ownership of their writing or designs.
AceBeautii and NFThinker have agreed to work together on this occasion to anonymise and distribute entries to Chris, FF, and Cheetah today.
Design Contest
The contest will launch on Monday 21st Feb. If we allow 10 days for submissions, we will close the contest on Thursday 3rd Mar.
Design Guild has been talking for the last 3 weeks about DAO Heat during their meetings, so there is a lot of buzz already. For this reason, we do not need to hold another AMA.
Therefore, FreedomFighter, Cheetah and theconfusedcoin should help raise awareness of the design contest through bDAO’s newsletters and social media channels, so that designers in other parts of the DAO become aware of the contest.
