Strategy for funding
It is impossible to know what the best path to funding is, and to further complicate the issue, some strategies work sometimes, others at other times. For this communities project it seems that the strengths of it are relating to the target demographics, volume of DAO creation, publicity derived from helping certain demographics, integration go web3 services, expansion of web3 ecosystem and a contribution to society.
We have also researched enough to learn that the web3 world will be able to provide better funding and grant values than non-web3 institutions. Moreover, as a young, unknown project, we need to build credibility and reputation to allow us to get better opportunities for larger funding.
Therefore, I suggest:
- before we have a working product we look for pre-POC funding from large, very reputable organisations within Web3 which will allow us to build the credibility.
- Suggestion is 100% focus on Eth Foundation.
- Once we have TheSchoolDAO POC started we can look for funds for a POC for the Hungarian project and the Refugee project.
- We need to develop a report for the interviews and learnings so far
- With the POC, the report on learnings from Students, teachers and Berlin Refugee, and most importantly the funding from Eth Foundation, we have a solid foundation to raise more funds.
- Once we start operations, our operating costs should be covered by fund raising, grants and donations more than from charging our communities.
Strategy for asking for funds post POC
The funding climate in Web3 is in constant flux and in the current bear market, raising funds can be even more complex. Therefore, we need a strong value proposition to help us to raise the desired funds. In order to focus our efforts it would be interesting to break down our potential funding sources in different groups and priorities.
Web3 Services Used
The execution of our project will require several services and partners from which we could offer a value proposition along the lines of: “we will use your service exclusively with our platform and in our learning documentation we will exclusively use your product as the example.”
