Using embeds in FAQ and #start-here channels allows them to be maintained by more than one person. This document will address how to use Discohook to create and edit embeds.

Creating an Embedded Message
  • Step 1: Create a Webhook from the Integrations screen in the channel settings where you want to post the message.

Before proceeding to Step 2 notify the Info Sec team of the new Webhook and ask to have it whitelisted in Wick bot. Skipping this step could cause the Wick bot to delete your message.
 
  • Step 2: Click “Copy Webhook URL”.

  • Step 4: Click “Clear All” in the top left and paste the webhook into the “Webhook URL” field.
  • Step 5: Create your message in the Content field and click Send when you are done.

Editing an Existing Embedded Message
  • Step 1: Copy the Message Link from the existing embedded message.

  • Step 2: Use the /restore command in Discord with the Message Link.

  • Step 3: Follow the link to discohook.com.
  • Step 4: Paste the Message Link into the Message Link field. Once “Message Link” is filled in, the Save button changes to Edit.
  • Step 5: Paste the Webhook URL (from the channel Integrations) into the Webhook URL field.
