DGC - Decentralize Gitcoin

Description
The Decentralize Gitcoin Workstream is taking the existing Gitcoin products and building decentralized versions of them. We intend on migrating from the existing product to the decentralized product in a way that provides a seamless transition experience for our users.
These products include Grants, Hackathons, and others.
Our general approach is to fully understand the current product and design a solution that is either fully decentralized or as decentralized as necessary to meet the requirements of that particular product and empower our community.
The system will be broken down into modular pieces so that we can iterate on each of them independently wherever possible. We will identify and prioritize the areas with the most impact implementing solutions that move us closer to decentralization in iterations.
Overall Requirements
  • Permissionless (forkable)
  • Credibly Neutral (decentralized)
  • User experience as good if not better than the current UX
Community
Updates (merge these into one)
Updates DB
Internal Updates
Team Updates
A general question here is how can we make it easy for skilled community members to contribute effectively? We will need to have clear work defined with well defined expectations, data sets available for contributors to utilize, ability to run existing code and contracts locally, and more.
