Meeting Notes:
Outcome: Passed ✅
Outcome Summary
This proposal passed, and we will adopt an event/travel policy.
Proposal
Proposal 1 - Event Policy proposal -
  • Tension: When we come upon events where team mates may attend in person, there’s a lot of confusion around whether they should, how they should, what’s paid for, etc
  • Proposal: Adopt
    🎉
    Events/Travel Policy
    • Workstreams PAY, DAO Ops can help with planning
    • Lodging, transpo, per diems
    • 1 event of choosing per contributor per year
  • Clarifying Questions:
    • Sean: How binding is this guidance?
      • WS should have some freedom, but we want some equal opportunity across the DAO. Rubrik that people can use case-by-case
    • Tigress: What is the decision we are making today then? Is this a policy?
      • If we pass this proposal you are agreeing my WS will adopt this. If we have minimal tweaks, we will duplicate this and start from this. You can create a ‘fork’
      • If you have your own version, pass it within two weeks
    • Lindsey: What equity are we trying to create?
      • Equal rights for people in the DAO
    • Tigress: How should we budget for this as a WS
      • Quarterly makes sense
  • Reactions:
    • Lindsey: Could this be two policies/proposals? DAO wide for all contributors’ once per year event attendance. And a template separately.
    • Tigress: 14 days is something that causes some pressure.
    • Kyle: no comment
    • Sean: supportive. Not sure if we MMM will fork it. OK to pass as is. Follow up to fork if needed.
    • Owocki: supportive. Brings people closer together.
    • Scott: supportive
    • Jodi: Generally supportive. Good that we can customize. Concerned about the 14 days to make a decision.
  • Amendments:
    • Extending the 14 days to 4 weeks. If lots of workstreams say they can’t afford one event per person.
    • Narrow to +20h contributors
  • Objections?
    • No
    • Proposal passed!
