Goals
  • How often and for how long will we meet?
  • Multiple meetups to account for global reach.
  • Pair programming.
  • Aggregating learning material and contributing to Prad's Solidity Cookbook.
  • Homework, because you know we're going to need to practice practice practice!
Workgroup Management
We will not have regular meetings! However, you will be meeting and working closely with a small group to facilitate and expedite your learning. You'll either set yourself up with a small group, or be assigned to one. Each cluster will consist of both current devs and non-devs. Clusters should consist of about 4 to 6 learners.
Please fill out the Roster linked above so that we can get our clusters squared away and begin working together.
Development Environment
What will you need to write, compile, and run Solidity code?
You are welcome to use any code editor, but I recommend VS Code, due to its wide adoption and developer sharing capabilities. If you have a computer that can run VS Code, you can write, compile, and run Solidity. Check it out here: https://code.visualstudio.com
If you are entirely on mobile (iPad, tablet), talk to me, nonsensetwice#3475 for help on getting a dev environment set up. There will be costs involved to have this up and running, so be aware when looking to set this up.
Mentor Developers will be available to help you get your local development environment running. Part of this week's homework is installing the Solidity compiler.
Mentor Devs
  • Zberwaldt
  • Prad
  • DCBuilder
  • Nonsense
  • Brianpatino.eth
  • Keating
  • MantisClone
  • Abstrucked
  • jameswmontgomery.eth
  • john (call me john)
Action items
Tip: Type @ followed by the name of a teammate to assign them to a task below.
Create Mentor Dev worksheet
Create timezone and availability calendar so learners can organize themselves and connect with others who have similar availability.
Create Solidity Learning Workgroup Notion where weekly assignments, workshops, and meeting notes will be posted.
