Interview Process, Purpose, and Qs

Initial Screen
Purpose: To qualify initial role fit through a candidate's background along with their interest in the company and their communication skills. This is also an opportunity to understand their compensation expectations (and share the range) and to sell them on the opportunity we have.
Typically held by hiring manager or workstream lead.

2nd/3rd Round Interview
Purpose: To understand and qualify, in more depth, role fit through a more extensive conversation about the candidates work history and past projects. Interviewer has the opportunity to also understand any softskills the candidate may bring to the table, along with any red flags brought up in the conversation. Any conversation with a candidate is an opportunity to sell the position to them.
Typically with the workstream lead or member of the workstream.

Assignment / Issue / Team Call
Purpose: A deep-dive into the candidate's experience through a tightly-scoped, repeatable exercise or team conversation.
Keep in mind that team members should be aware, prior to the interview, of what they are evaluating!

Final Interview
Purpose: To address any outstanding areas of concern and a final review of how the candidate may or may not align with the culture of the company. Keep in mind that 'culture' fit can often be based in internal biases.
