Know who you will be interacting with on a day-to-day basis, what they are responsible for, and how to contact them in relation to specific project needs.

Understanding Animation Tools

Get a good grasp of AI such as mid-journey, particularly in design applications. This might include Figma, Adobe Suite, Cinema 4D, After Effects, and other relevant software. Understand how these tools can aid in creating your designs.

Participate in Visual Research, Ideation, and Exploration

Participate in design review calls, 1:1s, and various working groups to brainstorm and generate ideas.

Collect images and references from the web to aid continuous ideation and visual exploration. This process is particularly important at the onset of a campaign or project, guiding the visual aesthetic.

Make sure everything is in line with Gitcoin’s visual language.

Web Design

Aid the Web Designer in obtaining all necessary visual assets. 

Web Graphic, Animation, and Image Development

The Web Developer will provide you with requests for specific graphics for inclusion on the website. This could include 3D elements, illustrations, or videos.

Make sure you understand the webpage's overall brief and the visual language connected to the grant. Use this information to inform the theme and content of the visual assets. 

Refining the assets into high-fi designs in Figma, testing them, soliciting feedback, and iterating.

Animations are mainly used for promotional material but can also be incorporated into web design. When creating for web use, ensure to integrate with Webflow's interaction design.

Keep in mind that a video campaign takes longer than illustration. Make sure the designs connect with the GC grant and visual language. Quality is paramount.

Design Systems and Style Guide Creation

Once the high-fidelity design has been approved, look at the layout and determine if there are ways that its elements can be templatized for future use. 

Additionally, make suggestions from the visual perspective:

Carry out research and create a mood board.

Discover and procure appropriate fonts.

Make decisions regarding the color palettes.

Contemplate how different elements or layouts can be repurposed and reused.

Inform the Web Designer of these decisions so that they can integrate them into their design.
