Update on work done:
- Zberwaldt:Β Did not work a lot more hours but not far from MVP. Stil a lot of CSS to be done for the mobile version. Will use Github more to let other devs help.
- Brianpatino.eth: He is more of a back-end developer and WP-expert but can help Zberwaldt
- MrPackman: He understands what the goal of the website is, short term and long term. He can help Zberwaldt to organise the work and find other people to help.
Brainstorm :
- The focus of the website now is to be appealing to read up on what Bankless DAO is all about. The scope of what the website should become is much more. It should be updated regularly with new content, so people come back. Mirror and Zora can open up functionalities of monetization. The best of both worlds is the web2 base layer and an extra layer that can be unlocked with web3.
- Ghost: great for producing content and easy to use, thatβs really valuable. But what happens if we go beyond blogposts? Everyone agrees to use ghost now. Ghost as headless CMS is still experimental, so it might still pose some issues.
- Web3: very important in our industry, we will still need to make a choice between the options:
- Moralis service could be an option to bridge the gap before we go to Web3 Native.
- Ghost is not set up for Web3 in itself yet, if we can make it work, we might be able to develop a Web3 plugin for Ghost that others can use too.
- The Zora Protocol is a good option to use as Mirror does.
- Unlock Protocol is another web3 tool
...
Brian confirms that DevOps has looked at different options, but some are on Solana. For now, for MVP projects, they advised to build it on Web2 and then afterward completely decentralize.
- Hosting: Netlify is an option but Fleek might be better although maybe too early stage. Fleek has an issue with API calls, if we don't have those, we should be good with Fleek. Let's discuss this with the Fleek Team once we get at that stage.
Action items
Create a list of small Github issues, so others can help and we can ship an MVP soon
( Zberwaldt )
Find other devs to help ( Zberwaldt & MrPackman )
Finish off Website Grant proposal and getting it approved ( Grendel & Yves )
Set up a meeting with AV Guild and Writers Guild, to decide what content that we have already is a good fit for the MVP website. ( Katarina & Yves )
