Dear GCR Members — We’re excited to announce our new initiative - GCR Angel Network! GCR Angel Network is an integral part of GCR 2.0, our larger effort to upgrade internal operations and improve the membership experience for everyone in the DAO. As we continue to push the boundaries of investing, we believe Community is our Competitive Edge in surfacing and attracting the next game-changing Web3 projects. It is what sets us apart from more traditional forms of capital. The Purpose of the GCR Angel Network is to tap into the power of Community Members to support our Portfolio Companies (’PortCos’) and new projects. In return for their contributions, members are eligible to be rewarded a portion of the investment carry in the projects they’ve helped.
 
The GCR Angel Network helps fuel the GCR Flywheel (see the chart on the right)
 
  • We at GCR aim to leverage the talented, dedicated members of the broader community to support our PortCos.
  • This allows GCR to be recognized for its differentiated, community-driven value proposition in attracting cutting-edge Web3 projects.
  • As GCR’s deal flow further improves in quality and quantity, we expect higher returns to flow to the GCR Treasury.
  • A stronger treasury allows GCR to provide products and services that will further reinforce the community.

What are Angel Pods?
GCR’s members are some of the most talented, thoughtful, and connected investors and builders in Web3, and we want to set up ‘Pods’ that allow our Portfolio Companies to tap into this pool of talent.
Angel Pods are contributor pools of GCR members organized by type of services provided to our Portfolio Companies. In return for their contributions, members are eligible to be rewarded a portion of the investment carry in the projects they’ve helped.
 
Today, we are starting with three Angel Pods:

  • and many more!
 
PortCos will have the opportunity for one-on-one 30-minute mentorship sessions with GCR’s Partners who have deep knowledge and expertise in various parts of Web3/Crypto.
