Akash Demo

Censorship resistant permission-less cloud

Cost relative to AWS, 75% less.

Objective: To do demo for rest of bankless as well to get started using Radicle

Akashlytics Dashboard → Create deployment

SDL → stack definition language file → define what hardware resources we need (cpu, memory, storage)

need for a deposit of min 5AKT, prepaid escrow account. used to pay for compute resources. instance dies if amount of $$ in the escrow account runs out

airBnb of compute resource → not exactly a penalty on providers going down, but users can review and mark down bad providers → making it hard for them to get more “business” down the road

making sure your deployment is durable and choosing a good provider, onus is mostly on the user to do their own due diligence and rely on reviews. much like airBnb

Akash has its own deployment auditor as well

Akash is not DAO. more of an open source community that contributes

Bankless can be a provider as well as a user → use yourself as a provider to host your services

mix of enterprises with spare compute resources as well as ‘home providers’ with a couple of spare resources at home that are providers on then Akash network

** HOT ** Akash had a hackathon about 3 months ago and someone did something with Radicle and Akash and deployment from git → https://github.com/slowriot/anubis

Akash is production ready

Akash testnet access → reach out to @Mando → go live date is 21st Feb 2022 → testnet will have persistent storage feature (which is key in hosting seed node from radicle

content to be done and then remake the website

seed node from radicle up and running on akash → just a demo from the github pages
