ROP-3: Rollup economics framework
The post Rollup economics introduced a framework to understand how rollups deal with costs and revenues. We expanded on the framework during a talk at EthCC (see also, slides).
The object of this ROP is to apply the framework to existing and planned rollup designs. We look for answers to the following questions:
- Is the framework exhaustive? Are there properties that are not captured?
- Is the framework useful? Does it provide novel insights into the management of fees and the elicitation of user value?
- How are various existing and planned rollup architectures represented with the framework?
- Can we unbox the operator further and tease out the various entities operating the rollup?
