Rowan: there is a discussion going on coordinating across the DAO. The Marketing guild will do a lot of things for the guilds and the DAO across S4 together with AV guild.
The “Temp check ”will be “community vote” now
3DHippy: We are working on S4 spec at the moment
Icedcool: Are there any of the votes that we need to draw attention to?
Rowan: Season duration and how it presented what people are voting on. We need your feedback so we can improve.
Season duration: how long a season should be, currently 3 months but can be increased to 4,5 and 6 months so guilds and projects have more time to achieve results.
3DHippy: I am happy to try longer seasons, at least to try it and if it is not working we can go back
0xLucas: we wanted a season to be a quarter so we can adjust things fast and easily. Now we have a lot of processes dialed in and we can move to longer seasons
Rowan: 3 months seasons were good for starting a DAO, but now we can extend and build more flexibility if needed.
0xJustice: I am a fan of maintaining the 3 months season and even a fan of a shorter season down to a month. This is because shorter seasons give us shorter feedback cycles for projects. This way we receive feedback when they burn through 3 months of budget and we got an update. If we prolong them we will get this after they burn 4,5 or 6 months of budget.
0xLucas: seems like we need a feedback mechanism to minimize this risk
3DHippy: Justice has a point, but is the season the way to get this information?! we just need another way to get this information.
Rowan: I agree, regardless of season length we need mechanisms of accountability for the projects, that are not linked to season duration
Compensations and coordinape:
Rowan: We want to know what people think about compensation and the 1000 BANK/hour. We think that this flat rate across the DAO is not working and we are looking into new solutions.
0xLucas: agree
3DHippy: a big important question is the value of the BANK here for the way we compensate people for their time and work
Closing words:
0xLucas: membership threshold- 35k BANK and our goal will be to change this every season. There is a strong case for lowering this threshold. So it is more accessible and decreases our reliance on guest passes. I am interested to hear why people don’t want to change it?
Rowan: The bulk of the work across the DAO is done by guest passes, but at the same time we want people to be recognized. GP holders are not allowed to participate in many things and some people stay at GP lvl for a lot of time. I think this brings a larger issue across the DAO hierarchy. I think we need to improve this so people that contribute to the DAO can get more.
Links: Maybe one way is to have two streams - one for staking and one for contribution.
Raybankless: I started as GP from scratch, and I was able to reach the 35k shortly. I felt like this number gave me a target that I want to reach. I would say give the people some challenge and this will add consistency and show if people are consistent.
