Background Research
    Questions:
    • What is the Waya Collective? ✅
      • Why Africa?
      • Thus far, how has the response been?
      • A bit social analysis here, but why did we miss the original industrial revolution, why are we over 200 years later still struggling to establish our industrial presence, why are a majority of the industrial businesses owned by foreigners as opposed to Africans themselves? ✅
      • ‘Missing middle’
    • How does the process of requesting then acquiring a loan work? ✅
      • What are the stipulations to paying back the loans, time period, interest rates, insurance that loans are paid back, etc
      • How do you make sure people pay it back then? And assuming Waya considers itself as business, how do you optimise your profits/interest earned if this is decided by the fund receiver? ✅
      • Where do you get the money from, how do you raise your funds ✅
    • The process and the collective itself seem to heavily depend of the governance processes in order to operate optimally, how transparent would you say this process is? ✅
      • How do you avoid capital manipulation - where those who can afford more tokens have more votes ✅
      • Has the idea of Soulbound tokens come up at all - where tokens are nontransferrable, one token serves as a single vote for one person, regardless of capital ability, no ones ability to vote can be swayed by having more tokens ✅
    • How/why did you decide to build on Cardano and not say on an EVM chain for example? ✅
      • ‘Being the bank that everyone deserves’
      • Any benefits? Disadvantages?
    • How do you ensure that investments are made in reputable individuals and/or institutions that pay decent living wages, do not encourage child labour, slavery etc ✅
      • Ensure entrepreneur is not exploited in the conditions of said investment or other activities
    • Can you give a quick rundown of what you look at when considering funding a business or an individual, for example how many people are employed, where is is located, how long it has been operating, profits made in the past however many years etc… ✅
      • Placing a precedence on funding women?
    • In 3 words, how do you feel about the space?
