Making the Most of the Cohort

This cohort will fly by. So, how do you get as much value from the experience as possible? This guide will help you.

📈 Making the Most of the BanklessDAO Writers Cohort
1. Break up Writing into Smaller Milestones
  • Block off time each day to move your post closer to completion
  • Avoid a blank page on the publishing day at all costs
  • Don’t fall behind. Share your writing topic in Discord and complete a
    🚄
    Bullet Draft
by Wednesday (more on this tomorrow)
2. Have A Bias Toward Publishing
  • Publishing an essay every week isn’t trivial. But having a bias toward publishing will make it possible
  • Follow the 1,000-word constraint. Don’t bite off more than you can chew. Writing 3 essays in a row is difficult, and we want to avoid burnout
  • Perfection is your enemy. You will not create a perfect post. Don’t let this stop you from publishing
3. Connect and Give Back
  • Give feedback and support others in the Discord channel. Use the
    🙌
    Feedback Guide
to help give feedback. The more you give, the more others will help you
  • Leverage Twitter and other platforms to boost writing. Comment, like, and RT others’ posts to show support
4. Distribution is 🔑
  • Take the time to promote your writing on social media after hitting publish
  • Writing is the hard part, but distribution is just as important
  • “Do Things That Don’t Scale” with your writing—send it directly to people who might be interested and ask for feedback
