Summary
This project seeks to create a basic blockchain/web3 content resource library tailored to the needs of the International Media Nodes (IMN) to support their growth. It has three main objectives:

  • Define categories of basic crypto knowledge using user research and the different spheres of interest (degens, artists and collectors, unbanked, gamers, web3 contributors, etc).
  • Define a basic media strategy for IMNs, so that each node can more effectively target growth and better understand how their specific audience may be best served.
  • Incentivize the creation and curation of basic knowledge content for translation and dissemination via IMNs; support growth by providing content tailored to the needs of each node’s user base.

Season 4 objectives will focus on two priorities:
  • Develop a survey or questionnaire for performing strategic consumer research within each media node in order to understand how their specific audience may be best served and how to target growth. (no consensus for this)
(Nicklas)

  • Define a basic media strategy, so that they can better understand how their specific audience may be best served. (Nicklas)
  • Create basic content for different web 3 learning categories (Web 3, NFTs, DAO-life, Crypto basics and so on). This type of content is lacking right now in the “bankless library”, that means that right now all 18 nodes have to write this sort of easy onboarding content in their own lanuage. It goes without saying that having all nodes create the same kind of content is very inefficient. This project aims to instetead, in a centralized way, produce well curated basic knowledge content that nodes then translate and publish, saving lots of time and energy.
BACKGROUND
The IMN project was started in Season 2 to facilitate the translation and dissemination of Bankless content worldwide. Since then, the project has grown to 16 nodes, with a total audience of Y subscribers and Z twitter followers. [Statement about growth in season 2] Clearly there is a strong market for crypto and web3 related content in many languages, and the IMNs have taken great strides in building a global BanklessDAO audience.
In order to amplify this trend and grow these audiences in the most efficient way possible, we would like to be a bit more targeted, and develop content specifically for the growth and development of our IMNs.
Bankless HQ content and the bDAO newsletters are fantastic of course, but they presume that viewers already have some basic level of crypto and web3 knowledge. Also, the content is western and developed world dominant. This is to be expected given that Bankless was started in the US, and the majority of DeFi enthusiasts are investor-class westerners to begin with. However, research shows that developing nations and less stable political regimes are perhaps the places with the highest crypto adoption metrics. By creating content that is specifically targeting people that are just about to start their crypto journey we want to maximise onboarding in all the IMN-nodes.

Media strategy team
The goal of the strategy team is to make sure that we Bring the right content to the right people, in the right channels🌟

All humans are unique, have different needs and dreams. Therefor, there have different reasons for wanting the same solutions (e.g bankless) and, because of our differences we are triggered and attracted by different messages and ways of communication.

Example: A married man with a toddler in the Philipines will most likely have a different reason for getting into DeFi than a single woman in the US already driving her Lambo.

There for we need to speak to our different audience-personas in different ways. To some degree the same is true for different cultures. By analyzing different personas (LIKN to example) we get a deeper understanding of how to communicate with our audience to fullfill their differnet needs and dreams.

Templates, Roadmap and Guides for
We have already analyzed 3 example personas and created general templates for anyone to use.

We have held a first workshop for IMN-nodes to start thinking about who their target audience is.

More info about what Buyers Personas and Buyers Journey is
Buyers Personas - Who?
  • Personas are hypothetical people, their life, work, intressets, challenges, dreams, goals etc.
    • In our pre-discussions there was consensus around that there are some general personas across the globe such as; Teachers, Doctors, Nursers, Students, Bankpeople, Politicians, Journalists, Constructors, Lawyers etc (please fill in with more) To use three of this could be a starting point
  • 1 Template (clean) for anyone to use to create their own hypothetical Persona in a target audience (But you know what, it´s already done free to use here 😎)
Engagement Journey - Where are they?
  • 5 stages of the buyers journey, from when they discover we can solve their needs to engagement
  • A mapping of how each persona surf the web, social media of choice aka how they interact and receive information of interest, including marketing message, elevator pitch etc
Different types of content
  • 1 Template/Guide Different kinds of content such as humor, functional, romantic, news, politics, global events and/or content relating to cycle of the year etc.
End Goal/Effect DRAFT
  1. Level up our reach by content stage 2 targeting a with a variety of people in diverse audience
  1. Enable content creation, production and publishing starting with the user in focus
  1. Level up our game as competitor to traditional media companies. By developing an outside-in process from user-perspective, we will enable a data-driven process for insights about our visitors. This is This is traditional companies core struggle when transforming, since their organizations have the reversed processes - inside-out due to hierarchic and siloed organizations.

To do: We need to identify the other 2-3 perople on the team

The strategy team till analyze 10 different target audience personas to be used as a starting point for assessing who our target audience is and we communicate with them to fill their respective needs.
    And so on.
Once the peronas have been analyzed the team will go on to identify a engagement journey for our audience. This happens in the following 5 steps:

    Content creation
The main ideas behind the project is to make content creation, for an audience that is squarley outside of crypto, in a centralized manner. This kind of content is largeley lacking both in HQ and bDAO content up untill now. This leaves the IMN-nodes with the task of producing the content on their own. Instead of having 16 nodes all write articles like “what is an NFT”, “What is a DAO” or “what is inflation” the project will create this content in english and then have the nodes translate it. This will also enable a bit more work on curation of the texts and the content around it to make it stringent.
The idea is to structure this into different learning sessions like:
    Learn crypto in 1 week → 7
    Learn NFTs in 1 week
    or
    Basic crypto lesson 1,2,3,4 ..
    or
    NFTs for beginners
The exact packaging of the content will be decided by the Media Strategy Team after the initial target audience work is done.
    Scope for season 3:
The project will aim at creating 7 written pieces around 1 page long to be translated and distributed within the IMN nodes.

This kind of content also solves for a problem that the IMN-nodes and translatorsguild have had trying to integrate with the content gateway mobile app. To have the app translated into many different languages it would be ideal to have the same content but in different languages. At the moment all IMN-nodes publish an very vide and differentiated mix of newsletters and articles making it hard to integrate what the nodes produce in the mobile app in a good way. This project will be a good first step in solving that problem.
We have gathered a long list of topics that the nodes wich to see LINK.

    • Do we need a budget for graphics and design?
    • Topics being considered
    What is money?
    History of the USD
Fiat and central bank policy, inflation
Why crypto? Addressing common misconceptions (priority)
Regulatory FUD (they will ban it)
Illegal activity - Scams and money laundering
    Volatility and investment risk
    Importance of decentralization
    Self custody basics
    Translation & Publishing
Translation and publishing will be done by the respective IMN-Nodes. Nodes are independent and how far different nodes have come in creating this type content varies. But there is strong demand for onboarding content (link to poll) within all nodes.
The content will also be published in the Bankless mobile app through the content gateway,

    Data driven strategy
A large part of the idea behind a media strategy team is to also start working on analyzing what kind of content works best. By a combination of looking at data and doing surveys for the different written pieces we can start to understand our audience in a data driven way. That information is then taken into consideration when deciding on what kind of content to produce next. A new batch of articles gets posted, analyzed and it all start over again.
This way we slowly get to know our audience better and better, we get to pick up on both trends that might be the same globally but we also expect to see that some pieces of content work better in some parts of the world that others. This is not going to happen over night but from a longer media strategy perspective this is crucial information to start gathering and that is true not just for IMNs but for all our media channels in genereal.

    Archive
The project will be the starting point of a library of basic onboarding information. This can then be used by anyone for anything. The most obvious use case will be for new nodes that will spin up in the future to just dive in and start translating.

The main ideas behind the project is to make content creation, for an audience that is squarley outside of crypto, in a centralized manner. or
      NFTs for beginners

The project will be the starting point of a library of basic onboarding information. This can then be used by anyone for anything. The most obvious use case will be for new nodes that will spin up in the future to just dive in and start translating.

[Discussion of what deliverables are achieved in S3 and how they will be used to inform scaling up to full scope in S4
Explain the project in detail. You’re expected to have done your homework and the more exact numbers and implementation details, the more likely the proposal will be approved. Include squad details, including any positions that have yet to be filled (e.g., you need to add someone from the dev guild to the squad).
You can get creative with the formatting of this section. For example, feel free to break it up into multiple specifications, including a project plan, or explain how the project will achieve its objectives in some other way.]

      BRAND USAGE
If the project will use the BeInCrypto DAO brand outside the DAO, explain in detail how the brand will be used and add a “BeInCrypto Brand” tag to the project.
      SUCCESS METRICS OR KPIS
We should follow the example of the IMN-project and apart from roles set up strict delivery KPIs imo. (Nicklas)
