Speaking of shirts.... this NFT comes with a shirt from Ultrasound Merch!

    Keynote / Round Table Discussion
    • Moderator: Samantha
    • Speakers: PLM Working Group, Rene and Links
    • Discussion Questions:
      • What does the PM working group do? Who are you people?!?
      • How can PMs help the DAO achieve success as a whole?
      • What are some action items leaders in the DAO can take back to their teams to become more sustainable, decrease burnout, have better project management and meeting practices, etc. ?
      • Sam: what does PLM workgroup do?
Rene: The group exist since last year. We are talking about projects in the DAO and sharing our Project Management knowledge. We build knowledge base Best Practices about all things people struggle recently. In the last 2 months, we offer a retrospective review of the project’s activities. Those are the 2 things we do
Links: What attracted me was the DAO’s possibility to be very agile in project management and be flexible.
        Sam: What is agile philosophy?
Links: that’s a way of working together focused more on people over processes. That means that we are focused on creating processes tailored to the individual teams as no two teams are identical.
Rene: the idea of constant learning will lead to constant development
Sam: What can you do for the DAO as a whole? What do you do to improve our DAO? What is on the horizon for PML group
Rene: last 2 seasons our bandwidth was kind of limited bandwidth, but every project will benefit from good Project Management. It is not easy for projects to get good or even any Project Management skills. This is what we want to tackle in the future. Our vision for Project Management team is kind of a guild and helping other guilds/projects with Project management.
Links: There is no place for the PMs to currently land, so we lose a lot of those people. That is why it is important to have a landing place for those people.
PM is focused on execution toward a goal. That’s the strategic/tactical exercise. What a lot of projects miss are tools to work asynchronously. We can start by educating how to work asynchronously. We want to create a way for projects to be accountable for their work
Sam: Can you elaborate on the retrospectives?
Rene: This should be done regularly, every two weeks for example, so the teams can spot any issues and track progress on the improvements.
Sam: Do you guys do this for guilds too?
Links: We haven’t done it yet. But with the next season, we hope to make a case of and the guilds put 6k for retrospectives into their budget
Sam: Do you have actionable steps for people to create more sustainable projects and guilds? Are there any β€œquick tactics?
Rene: There is no one size fits all solution, so I will encourage all projects to identify one person to come and join our team. Weekly we have a call to reflect on project challenges, so we can help people, We can also offer different solutions to the different teams
Links: The retrospective tactics will make you better regardless if it is done weekly/seasonally/monthly. Try to work more asynchronously is another tactic, that is a super loaded statement but there are 3 rules for that: Centralized knowledge, decentralized decision making, tight feedback loop! I don’t think you can create a sustainable product without a sustainable team, you can’t have a sustainable team, without you being sustainable yourself. So work on your own sustainability.

jameswmontgomery.eth 🏴: How are projects White Listed for retrospectives?
Rene: Last season we just choose projects according to their size and our bandwidth. In the future we will continue doing this but on a more self-sustainable basis. We will charge 6k BANK
Dionne: Can projects that do not receive a grant get involved?
Rene: yes, you can, This is not limited and if you want to save on BANK do a retro with us and then try to do them on your own. Everyone can ask us and we can help that you implement that tool on your own.
