Action Items from last time
change the member role to guest pass and add that it is expired in two weeks, and provide a mention explaining this (instead of member role, and we announced it- brianl
start community-building channel - brianl
AMA discussion in the community - ask social media marketing team cadence
- swap office hours in server to Q&A in twitter spaces? done
genesis fund gating - when the fund is launched, for now to be used by members
deep-dive community discussion - discuss topic (Wednesday or Thursday 10 am EST) - first one this thursday
finalize map - ispeaknerd
franco - beginner introductions (ASYNC discussions) - not started
Earning membership through work:
How to determine what a task is in terms of task points (1-10)
20 task points, (20 hrs of work)
Earn NFT >> White same as black glove?
- white <> social collateral, black glove (scarcity)
- capped number of white glove
- FTW:
- 20 - 25 task points <> earned over 4-6 weeks to ensure continuous contribution
- per season, tethered to the tasks in the season, with a limited number per season (different color per season, when a token was earned, adds admin overhead)
- voting in discord: equal vote
- governance votes: weighted
- the weight of vote is the same as black glove in terms of governance
apollo> Boxing fight: multiple rounds, can the NFT denote the number of rounds / season
Apollo0517 UMA / education opportunities (chat with fibo)
Dework token >> number of tokens earned >> multiplier of gov vote for next year?
NFT Governance multiplier
nerd >> NFT <> Multiplied by season (0 is more valuable than 1) - early adopter, but not long term incentivizing
tessa >> NFT <> multiplied task point get redeemed by a multiplier >> difficult to implement
NFT base level governance, multiplier over time or threshold
nerd:
linear multiplier (age, when nft was acquired) (20-25 per season)
Dework creates of tasks <> 1 nft from dework, multiplier 0.5, 1, 1,2 >> seasonal multiplier
>> age (length of time in a wallet) x glove Nft + (dework multiplier) = gov vote weight
>> apollo: after white glove is traded to a black glove at some point)
tessa:
- shouldn’t penalize newer members
resume versus task points
- dework for task points
- something incred for resume building
ispeaknerd:
Last week:
- restructuring discord to be aligned with dework
- set up dework
- finalized the server map for now
- explained dework to leads
This week:
- finalize dework:
- mostly public right now, if it needs to be more private
- set it to private, only invited contributors:
- dework is gated through discord/collabland
- make certain tasks or projects or tasks
Ideas: differentiate themselves: community calls: hey here is some of the stuff we did in the last week, let’s just vibe and chat
Community call example:
- announcements / summary without comments from leads just to publicize
- if you’re new let us know who you are
- A project that allows learning, not a paid project:
- Comparing investment theses: is investing in crypto infrastructure a good idea?, L1 chains
- conversation in the education channel in new threads
- what would be the output ?
- Look at massari, A16z and then asking our students to produce similar research for practice, or research summary
- practice exercise of the projects in the founders’ lounge
- Leads, a few minutes each to talk about whatever is happening in their world
- 30-minute discussion
ispeaknerd:
Last week:
- discord resturct
next week:
brianl:
Last week:
- guest pass
- changed the profile logo
- turned on some features that discord allows
- moving channels around for a better organization
- added tweet shift
This week:
- coming: you can interact with Twitter from discord it is paid feature ($25/year)
- new members:
- public square
- role select
Chao:
Last week:
- deep dive:
- close friend: guest pass, contributor level?
- FC fun place to hang out?
- Deep Dive structure: he has all the necessary information and he will work on the content
- It’s the first so let’s see how it goes
- Successful: if the content is good, good attendance (5-10 people is good)
- Record the meeting (if the speaker doesn’t mind)
- Long Twitter thread: information we learned from the deep dive (summarize the information from the deep dive content, to bring more followers on Twitter)
This week:
- let’s go with the flow in terms of topics
- find experts who want to share ( what we want to share and what we can share)
- not super formal (defined a week before sharing)
- might be good to have suggested topics:
- market collapse
- stables
- Dynamic NFTs are Dope - Zerion DNA,
- NF Thinker’s NFT investment could be a much longer series (each segment could be a deeper dive, a series of 10 like that could be just about NFT investing) - could be expanded
- Investing in ecosystems - how strong is the developer ecosystem for anticipated growth (L1 blockchain race (state of crypto 2022 report https://a16zcrypto.com/state-of-crypto-report-a16z-2022/)
- Making the most of a bear market
- Making the most of conferences (ispeaknerd) - Twitter space?
- Just a general discussion about L2s - (ispeaknerd) - Twitter space?
- Web3 Security - one of the infosec (dysan, downlore RG)
- Save on gas - Don’t Transact?
- The Rug - Answering big questions (forming a media project in web3, revenue generation, funding, revenue sharing, content, starting with NFTs, web2, (changing strategies to reach more people), it is more independent and they don’t want to get funding, we need money to grow in the next, growing pains of a startup, emergent behavior)
- Community building- Growth of a community story, from a fan group to a community - (ispeakneard) /averagejoe
Structure from a timeline point of view (from starting (start with community building, etc in a storyline kind of way), but maybe they’re not related
BanklessDAO community-building:
community managers in ops guild, there is no documentation on that right now
documenting example:
- community manager role, for community:
- communicate mission, values
- collaboration v competition
- skills in discord and Twitter spaces
- mindfulness of infractions
- conduct in bdao
- connecting newbies to talent coordinators
- community guidelines
- global inclusiveness
What does success look like in terms of building the community:
- What are the vibes? (engagement before and permissionless)
- How do you define growth:
- number of L2s or L1s: different aspects to it
what would success look like for FC community-building:
- success in community building it is about smooth-onboarding
- how engaged are people in chat
- how newcomers are engaged in chat
- growth from new-comers:
- how to support people in doing that:
- there are people who are willing, but not enough avenues for that
- questionnaire for people who are interested? or maybe just a poll in discord about the topics that are most interesting
Bounties for deepdives: (2500 BANK)
Deep Dive subjects:
- Market Collapse
- Stables
- Dynamic NFTs are Dope - Zerion DNA example
- NF Thinker’s NFT investment could be a much longer series (each segment could be a deeper dive, a series of 10 like that could be just about NFT investing) - could be expanded
- Investing in ecosystems - how strong is the developer ecosystem for the anticipated growth (L1 blockchain race (state of crypto 2022 report https://a16zcrypto.com/state-of-crypto-report-a16z-2022/)
- Making the most of a bear market
- Making the most of conferences (ispeaknerd) - Twitter space?
- Just a general discussion about L2s - (ispeaknerd) - Twitter space?

- Save on gas - Don’t Transact?
- The Rug - The Growing Pains of a company (brainl? maybe, if he is excited about it)
- Community building- A story of growing a community, (maybe from a fan group to a community - (ispeakneard)) (or averagejoe bdao)
- Deep dive:
- Special area or emerging spaces: someone sensitive to the market
- one person who is familiar with the markets, for recurring deep dive
- invite some of Chaos friends
- cover all aspects:
- Topics:
- AMA: if there are an eager community in Asia:
- is it good in marketing?
- Mandarin-speaking community members
- more time to discuss and prepare:
- more regulation in China:
- it is a bit tricky, no talk of investments
- Chao will look into what is possible
NFThinker:
Last week:
