[L2 Contributors] How to create a Role in Discord

This guide is for level 2 contributors who would like to create a new role. You MUST HAVE 2FA ENABLED to use these privileges.

1. Right-click the BanklessDAO server, navigate to Server Settings and select Roles.

1. Click Create Role and navigate to the Display setting
Title the role

Turn ON Allow anyone to @mention this role

2. Head over to the permissions tag. All the default settings should be standardized, but check to make sure the following permissions are ON ✅
View Channels
Change Nickname
Send Messages
Send Messages in Threads
Create Public Threads
Create Private Threads
Embed Links
Attach Files
Add Reactions
Use External Emojis
Use External Stickers
Read Message History
Use Application Commands
Connect
Speak
Video
Start Activities
Use Voice Activity
Request to Speak
The following permissions should be OFF ❌:
1. Manage Channels
2. Manage Roles
3. Manage Emojis and Stickers
4. View Audit Log
5. View Server Insights
6. Manage Webhooks
7. Manage Server
8. Create Invite
9. Manage Nickname
10. Kick Members
11. Ban Members
12. Mention @everyone, @here, and All Roles
13. Manage Messages
14. Manage Threads
15. Send Text-to-Speech Messages
16. Priority Speaker
17. Mute Members
18. Deafen Members
19. Move Members
20. Manage Events
21. Administrator

3. Hit Save Changes.

4. You can assign tags in two ways:
• One-off: Click on a user's profile and the + icon under Roles. Then assign the tag.

• In Bulk: Navigate back to the role in Server Settings and click on the Manage Members tag. Here, you can Add Members in bulk
