Hello Crypto Sapiens,
During the past couple of months, the team has set out on a path to evolve Crypto Sapiens from podcast to web3 podcast network, taking folks from being crypto curious to becoming true crypto sapiens. We introduced new shows, each on a pilot 4-week program. The first show we piloted is Diversi-TEA, a podcast focused on Diversity and Inclusion topics in web3, hosted by Red Crystal Dragon, JENetics, Valentina and Dr Kelly Page.
Another show we had the pleasure of launching is eXchange Points, hosted by Jaris James and focused on platforms and teams building the infrastructural layer of the new decentralized web.
The third show, Web3 ID, focused on the concepts of identity and reputation in the space of web3; hosted by Humpty, it featured discussions with power players like Orange, Bright ID, Gitcoin, Disco and Govrn to name a few.
Descientralized also launched with a bang; hosted by Flowscience, it brought together leaders and pioneers within the DeSci arena, a relatively new space that seeks to reinvent science using the building blocks of web3. It featured guests such as Talent DAO, Verida and Psy DAO.
Our team has been hard at work on some exciting new initiatives. We kicked off October with a sponsorship deal from Otterspace, locked in a Gitcoin collaboration on Open Data Science, and we were added to the list of communities on Panvala!
As we head into Season 6, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on how far we've come and what we've learned. We're so grateful for all of you who have supported us along the way, and we look forward to continuing this journey together.

De Journo’s collaboration with the Crypto Sapiens network was finalized on the October 12, 2022, with the aim of bringing awareness to the needs of decentralized journalism and the tools that are used to get there.
There is a JournoDAO Founder's NFT for sale to those who are acquainted with, and support the mission to decentralize journalism. We do not encourage you to purchase the NFT to speculate on its value, but rather to support the JournoDAO mission.

The collaboration will involve a four-episode mini-series, set to be published under the Crypto Sapiens podcast branding and distribution.
The first recording had speakers Eureka John, Crystaldstreet, Kaxline, Ericcmack and FanaticalHodler, who came together to discuss the topic of ‘Foundations’ — centered specifically around establishing definitions and the fundamentals of both web3 and journalism. This episode is scheduled to be published after the last Descientralized episode is published.
The second recording hosted by Eureka John, in Crystaldstreet, Kaxline, Eric Mack and Clinamenic, discussing the tools web3 currently has to offer for journalists.
The third recording, hosted by Eureka John had speakers Crystaldstreet, Kaxline, Reza and Clinamenic discussing how to explore the various types of censorship and some of the web3 tools to deal with it. In this episode, we discovered that not all censorship is a terrible thing, however, it should be a more democratic and transparent process.
The fourth episode was centered on Web3 Incentivizing Journalism as a Public Good. Crystaldstreet, Kaxline, Eric Mack, Clinamenic, and Humpty sat with the host Eureka John to explore how communities can use web3 to build their own decentralized, community-owned, not ad-driven, news outlets.
🧪 Desci - Vi-Fi
Crypto Sapiens officially presented Descientralized to its podcast network with Flowscience as its first host.
Descientralized aims to break down the new model of decentralized science by running thought experiments and exploring other theses that are being tested in web3. The first episode on the July 9, 2022 expounded on what decentralized science is all about, and considered the fundamental aspects of science as a social activity and institution.
For the second episode, Flowscience also sat with Trent McConaghy of Ocean Protocol, Savva Kerdemelidis of Crowdfunded Cure, and Laurence Ion of Vita DAO to discuss the importance of funding, intellectual property and ownership in decentralized science.
Episodes 3 and 4 are in the pipeline and will drop soon. In Episode 3, Flowscience sat with Adam Goyer of Psy DAO, Keith Axline of Re-public DAO and Erik Vanwinkle of DeSci Labs to discuss publishing, reputation and censorship in decentralized science. Episode 4 features Adam Goyer of Psy DAO, Erik Vanwinkle of DeSci Labs, Savva Kerdemelidis of Crowdfunded Cure, Jelani Clark of DeSci World and Clinamenic of Lobby3 and JournoDAO on the topic: Is Science a Public Good?
On September 14, we announced that we will be holding a special two-day event to celebrate Gitcoin, GR15 and Descientralized.

Otterspace - Ekira
A sponsorship agreement was executed between Otterspace and Crypto Sapiens on October 7, 2022. In return for Otterspace’s sponsorship, Crypto Sapiens are to drop four episodes (two of the main podcast, two of WEB3ID), four show note mentions, two sponsored social media mentions and will include the Otterspace logo on the Crypto Sapiens website for one month.
Following the agreement, Crypto Sapiens released the first podcast episode sponsored by Otterspace on October 12, 2022: an episode of WEB3ID.
On October 15, 2022, the second sponsored episode [the first of two from the main podcast] was released.
On October 18, 2022, the second sponsored episode of the WEB3ID podcast dropped, and covers governance frameworks.
The final sponsored episode of the main podcast was released on October 22, 2022.

Wonderverse [Ekira]
Launched on June 14, 2022, Wonderverse is all about building the coordination layer for web3 projects to change the world. On October 29, 2022, Wonderverse tweeted a list of their grantees and partners.
On October 14, 2022, Wonderverse tweeted about community building and leadership in web3.
Wonderverse announced its 1st birthday on October 19, 2022, and officially finished Orbit 1. You can read more on that in the tweets below.
On December 29, 2022, Wonderverse made a huge announcement informing the public they’ve crossed 50,000 members on the platform.
Wonderverse started the year 2023 on a good note, they made it known to the public that 25,794 Orbit 1 NFTs were dropped to the community on the 10th of January 2023. Members can now mint their work as NFTs for free.
DAOpunks (Leah_par)
DAOpunks rounded off the year 2022 with the launch of the Cohort 1 Grant. This grant was opened to anyone (individual or team) who needed some capital to fund an idea or their work in web3. The program was scheduled for a period of 6 weeks and 1ETH was granted to 3 winners to support their initiatives.
The DAO kickstarted the year by announcing the Cohort_02 grant on January 14. The application portal for this grant opens on February 1, 2023. DAOPunk community will be voting for 3 applicants who will participate in the 6-weeks Cohort_02 grant round, and each one of them will receive a grant of 1ETH.
Even though there are many opportunities and careers in web3, looking them up might be overwhelming; join the DAOpunk job board and Talent Collective on Pallet as they are actively helping contributors match their skills and goals to positions that fits them best. Organizations and DAOs can also access a list of candidates from their talent pool.
Panvala {Vi-Fi}
The wait is finally over! Crypto Sapiens joined the Panvala ecosystem on October 3, 2022. On the August 26, 2022, Niran Babalola, founder of Panvala sat with Humpty, host of Crypto Sapiens podcast, to discuss how Panvala connects communities and helps them thrive through a shared treasury and expanded member network.
Panvala's goal is to create a world where community life can take center stage in our society; they do this by empowering communities to retain their marketing dollar through stamps. Panvala is shifting communities from the model of paying out their marketing dollars to de-local marketing firms and third-parties who are exploiting them through extraction.
Collecting and redeeming these stamps is a great way to obtain community-generated revenue for the Crypto Sapiens project.
The goal of the Panvala league is for communities to own the exact share of Panvala as the share of the budget they intend to acquire. Panvala rewards them when they do this with a higher matching multiplier until their Pan acquisition limit is maxed out.
Communities that do not currently have a PAN balance but intend to stake, or would like to increase their stake, can do so through Uniswap.
EriDAO presented Crypto Sapiens to the Panvala community at the Panvala Town Hall Meeting.
TalentDAO (Leah_par)
With the close of the TalentDAO drop on September 30, 2022, the DAO announced the launch of its first writing cohort which commenced on October 14, 2022 through November 10, 2022, with each participant publishing a 1000-word article every week, for 4 weeks.
As a reward, graduates of the cohort received reputation NFTs issued by Orange Protocol, as verified credentials. They also had the opportunity of building the Genesis team of TalentDAO Writers Guild, and write for the Newsletter team.
On October 21, 2022, the Organization announced the Talendbot NFT as a token of appreciation to everyone who contributed to the past Gitcoin round. The NFT was claimed freely by these past contributors, and the opportunity to claim ended on December 14, 2022. The second meeting for Talentbot holders held January 26 2023. October 17, 2022, labDAO announced that they will be collaborating with TalentDAO on Project LION, a project that aims to build AI powered tools that improve community health, with the goal of building a community health analytics toolkit. TalentDAO will be contributing to this project by providing scientists that will help validate the model's output.
The DAO kickstarted the year 2023 by announcing its collaboration with Collab.Land and RaidGuuld on the launch of a series of governance experiments that will be used to test several voting strategies. This announcement was made on January 5, 2023.
