A screen like this will open up. From here, click on the Privacy & Safety option.
You can set your DMs off for all the new servers that you join in by turning off the toggle.

Tip: You will have to do this manually for all the other servers that you previously joined where you had your DMs open.
Securing your account with Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
As you dig deeper into Web3 communities you will spend more time on Discord. Enabling 2FA is important because it increases the security of your account. It also increases the security of the future communities where you have an admin/moderator role. If your account were to be compromised, the hacker could use your account’s privileges to tamper with the Discord server. So it's not only important for you but also for the community members to secure your account.
Click on the User settings option.
A new screen will open up, click on My Account if you have something different opened up. Click on Enable Two factor Auth.
A popup like this will open up. Type your password and click the Continue button.
After that, a new popup will open detailing the 3 steps.
Download the Google authenticator app on your Android or iOS device.
The first screen of the authenticator app will look like this.
You can scan the QR code from your laptop or enter the 2FA key manually. After you have done that put your 6 digit verification code and a popup like this will open showing that 2FA is activated.
You can now link your phone number to your account to help act as a backup method for obtaining 2FA codes so that you can still access your account if you lose your mobile.

Make sure you also download your backup codes. Don't store them digitally for security reasons. It's safer to write these codes on paper and keep them in a safe place.

Scammers use all sorts of tricks so that they can get access to your Discord account or Crypto Wallet. Here are some examples of the types of scams and how you can be safe from them.
Discord Nitro scam
These sorts of links have been floating on many Discord servers. They are phishing links, which are a scam to compromise your account. Never click on these.
Whenever connecting your wallet to Collab.Land always makes sure to check the username. You can do this by left-clicking on the profile picture.
The username must be Collab.Land#6372 If you have connected your wallet to other servers, you will have a message history with this bot.

Collab.Land has disabled their DM feature in many severs, but still make sure to check the bot username on messages in NFT servers. You can check it here by left-clicking on the profile picture.
Some extra points for security
🔒 Never ever share your seed phrase with anyone.
🔒 Don't enter your passwords while sharing your screen in a voice channel.
🔒 Don't click on any links that you get in Discord DMs from unknown people. Here is an example. You can block these accounts and report them as spam.
