Attendees: links, raybankless, vickyone, mceal, gcal
Purpose: to get PMs ready to work on bounty board
  • go over expectations of PMs
  • bounty board background and progress
  • introduction of projects
  • record interest in projects

Expectations of PMs
links’ definition of project manager: someone who manages resources (i.e. time, money, effort) towards some goal
  • implication: you have to articulate the goal
  • implication: for best results, make best use of resources towards goal

At Bounty Board, we have SHARED resources
  • i.e. devs, BANK, and time is all shared between projects, so project managers are expected to articulate and convince people WHY they are the best project to get resources

PM in a nutshell:
  1. Understand/articulate the goal - write down objectives and required information
  1. Set up a cadence of accountability - i.e. a weekly meeting where you do the following:
    1. review the work done (or not done) the previous week
    2. align on priorities/blockers/next steps
    3. commit to some tasks for the following week
  1. Use the cadence you set above to iterate towards the goal
Check out the following articles for more info on how this works:

Project manager responsibilities vary by the type of organization they are in…
  • large organizations typically have project managers doing TACTICAL work like noting and accounting for resources (i.e. spring planning)
  • smaller organizations need PMs to fill in the gaps (aka be problem solvers)
    • i.e. why isn’t the team moving towards the goal?
      • is it an alignment issue? then book a meeting or create a spect to align people
      • is information missing? then do research or create a prototype/test to get the missing info
  • at Bounty Board, we need Problem-Solver PMs

You’ll have autonomy to get the job done
  • you will be assigned a project, and you’ll be expected to coordinate/gather the resources you need to meet the goals
  • you can ask links for help at any time, you can request BANK from Bounty Board team to get external help, you can request effort from Bounty Board devs
    • but it’s YOUR show, so figure out the path for yourself (that’s the fun part)
    •
Bounty Board Project Background
Bounty Board is one of the oldest projects at the DAO
  • established in S1, Championed by Icedcool
  • mainly stacked with devs, UX and product strategy has been a weakness
  • links has been a major blocked later (on all projects listed below)
  • current strategy centers around…
    • exploring talent sourcing use cases (sell what we have now)
    • building to unlock microbounty use cases (figure out the next use case)
