[Discord] How To Use the Collab.Land Tip Bot
Collab.Land is a user-management platform with tools that integrate directly into Discord. BanklessDAO Discord uses the Collab.Land bot for both verification and tipping. All BanklessDAO Discord users can receive tips with no prior setup required.
Only Discord members who have connected their wallets to Collab.Land will be able to use the tipping features to tip others. If you have not previously verified (i.e. because you don't yet hold 35K BANK), you can still go to the #collabland-join channel and follow the process to connect.
- You can receive tips from others and use that balance to tip, or deposit tokens yourself to start tipping others.
- To deposit, you will need to be able to see and select the $BANK token in your MetaMask wallet. See this page for help with that.

How to Deposit Tokens
You can deposit BANK from Ethereum Mainnet and/or BANK held on Polygon (referred to as mBANK in order to distinguish the two balances) into Collab.Land for tipping use in Discord.
In your Direct Message (DM) with the verified Collab.Land bot, type
!deposit and Collab.Land will reply with three network options:
To deposit BANK to your Collab.Land address from Ethereum Mainnet, type the command:
!deposit 1. The bot will respond with Deposit Instructions for Ethereum Mainnet:
OR
To deposit mBANK to your Collab.Land address from the Polygon network type the command:
!deposit 137. The bot will respond with Deposit Instructions for the Polygon network:
There will be two addresses shown in the instruction box text:
- Send ETH or supported tokens to
0x…1The first address is the one that will hold your funds in Collab.Land. It is unique to each user and chosen network. It is not possible or necessary to change this one.
- Accepted deposit address
0x…2The second address is your wallet — the one you are using to send the funds. It is called the ‘Accepted deposit address’. Update this address to the one that belongs to you by clicking the blue ‘Click Here’ link.
You MUST update the ‘Accepted deposit address’.
Replace the default address with your own Ethereum or Polygon wallet address.
Once you've updated your address, double check the addresses by typing
!deposit again.Copy the first address — your Collab.Land address — and then using your preferred wallet
(e.g. MetaMask), and making sure you are connected to the correct network (Mainnet or Polygon), send your preferred deposit amount to the Collab.Land address.
Note: Make sure that you have enough of a balance to cover the transaction (gas) fee as well as your transfer amount.
🎉 Congratulations!
You now have BANK or mBANK deposited with Collab.Land and can start tipping others!
How To Tip Another Member
Tip a member using the following command (you must be in a Discord channel, not a thread).
Type
/tip send and the prompt will come up to choose a network:
Complete all the details to finalise the tip. For example:
- network: Ethereum Mainnet
- amount: 50
- token_symbol: BANK (on mainnet) OR mBANK (on polygon)
- Recipients: type at least one recipient, including the @ as part of their Discord username. [A selection list will pop up as you type.]
Collab.Land bot will confirm in the channel:
Collab.Land will also DM the tip receiver in their Direct Messages:

How To Check Your Collab.Land Balance
You can check the balance of tokens held in your Collab.Land by using the command
!balance in the bot DM, or /tip balance in the #bot commands channel. If you prefer privacy, use the DM.
How To Withdraw Funds Out of Collab.Land
Withdrawing from Collab.Land back to Ethereum Mainnet or Polygon will require payment of a gas fee.
Have your destination wallet address ready — you can copy your own address from within your MetaMask wallet to ensure it is correct.
To withdraw, use the following command in the bot DM:
!withdrawCollab.Land will reply with instructions:
Next, type
!withdraw <token symbol> <true|false>
(true or false is optional — true = pay txn fee from token value.)For example:
!withdraw mBANK true
When prompted, paste in your destination wallet address on the Ethereum or Polygon network.
If there is no input after 20 seconds, the operation is canceled.
Collab.Land bot will DM you to type in how much of the token you want to withdraw.
If there is no input after 30 seconds, the operation is canceled.
Review the gas fee:
- If the gas fee is acceptable to you, reply accept.
- If not, reply reject to cancel.
