DMs & Friends List
Accessing your DM inbox
Your DM inbox + friends list is located on your Home page within the
Discord logo on the top-left corner of the screen.
Clicking on it will open your Home page. All DMs will be listed in the Direct Messages section on the left.
In the Direct Message section, you can see all the accounts that you already had a conversation with.
To view your friends’ list, click on the
Friends icon. You can see which of your friends are Online in the tab. Searching for specific users using the search bar is also possible.
Navigating to the
Pending tab will take you to a list of pending friend requests, which you can either accept or decline.IMPORTANT: Be careful with friend requests. Spam is often sent via friend requests. Review which server you share with the potential friend and confirm if the person is someone you want to connect with.
Adding Friends and Sending DMs
Right-clicking on a user's avatar or username will activate a drop-down menu. Within it, you are able to visit a user's profile, add them as a friend, or message them directly.
Some people have DMs turned off (to prevent spam). To navigate around this, simply add them as a friend. Once they accept your request, you'll be able to DM them.
To send a friend request, select
Add Friend in the drop-down menu. The user receiving your request will have to approve before they show up in your friend's list.Previous:
